After the publication of the recommendations, agreed by all the scientific societies through the ILCOR, at the end of 2020, the GRN-SENeo began a process of analysis and review of the main changes since the last guidelines, to which a specific consensus positioning on controversial issues, trying to avoid ambiguities and trying to adapt the evidence to our environment. This text summarizes the main conclusions of this work and reflects the positioning of that group.

December 2024

University of Maryland School of Public Health, College Park, MD, USA.

Background: Black and Hispanic ADRD patients often incur substantially higher costs related to Alzheimer's disease and related dementia (ADRD). Neighborhood-level vulnerabilities are also linked to increased risks of adverse health conditions. Emerging evidence has suggested that Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) work effectively to promote ADRD care.

Using joint genomic-transcriptomic analysis of 243 samples, we reveal recurrent patterns of nongenetic evolution in ccRCC not exclusively governed by genetic factors, including T-cell depletion, tumor T-cell receptor coevolution, potential cGAS-STING repression, and increased cell proliferation. These patterns can aid clinical management and guide novel treatment approaches.

Background: Brain Health (BH) perspectives and practices among health care professionals constitute a crucial piece of information for developing tailored initiatives to foster BH at the regional level. We aim to characterize knowledge and clinical practices associated with BH in Spanish neurologists by a cross-sectional survey.

Method: An original online survey was distributed by email among all members of the Spanish Society of Neurology.

Background: As the landscape of ADRD diagnoses evolves to include biomarker testing, there is a pressing need to understand the unique experiences, challenges, and support needs of families undergoing evaluations of cognitive decline, particularly in a manner that prioritizes cultural considerations from voices historically underrepresented in ADRD research. The current study aims to understand the AD biomarker disclosure journey of persons from underrepresented groups with the goal of informing culturally responsive approaches to the care of patients and their families navigating the complexities of ADRD diagnoses.

Method: Virtual focus groups are being conducted over a secure video conferencing platform, with a trained facilitator guiding the discussion.

Background: Distal myopathies (MPDs) are heterogeneous diseases of complex diagnosis whose prevalence and distribution in specific populations are unknown.

Methods: Demographic, clinical, genetic, neurophysiological, histopathological and muscle imaging characteristics of a MPDs cohort from a neuromuscular reference center were analyzed to study their epidemiology, features, genetic distribution and factors related to diagnosis.

Results: The series included 219 patients (61% were men, 94% Spanish and 41% sporadic cases).
