In clinical practice, it is sometimes difficult to evaluate the intra-false vocal fold lesion. Transcutaneous ultrasound can be an option to evaluate the soft tissue lesion within the right false vocal cord in a 65-year-old man with laryngeal Rosai-Dorfman disease presenting with hoarseness and right false cord swelling.

Utilization of indocyanine green for intraoperative sentinel lymph node mapping in canine mammary tumors.

Sci Rep

March 2025

Department of Veterinary Surgery, College of Veterinary Medicine, Chungbuk National University, Cheongju, 28644, Korea.

Accurate staging by sentinel lymph node (SLN) biopsy is essential for improving prognostic outcomes of canine mammary tumors (CMT). Indocyanine green near-infrared fluorescence (ICG-NIRF) imaging offers a novel real-time approach for SLN mapping, potentially enhancing the precision of surgical SLN biopsies. This study evaluated the effectiveness of transcutaneous ICG-NIRF imaging in identifying lymphatic drainage pathways and SLNs in CMT and determined the optimal ICG concentration for visualizing lymphatic channels and SLNs.

Exercise transcutaneous oximetry (Ex-TcpO2) is used to support the vascular origin of lower-limb pain, or to assess walking impairment. The aim of this study was to describe the association between Ex-TcpO2 measurement and the perioperative clinical and morphological outcomes after revascularization in patients with intermittent claudication (IC). From January to December 2022, a single-center prospective observational study was conducted among patients with IC.

Non-pharmacologic interventions in disorders of consciousness.

Handb Clin Neurol

February 2025

Coma Science Group, GIGA-Consciousness, University of Liège, Liège, Belgium; Department of Neurology, Centre du Cerveau (2), University Hospital of Liège, Liège, Belgium.

Severely brain-injured patients with disorders of consciousness pose significant challenges in terms of management, particularly due to the limited therapeutic options available. Despite the potential for some patients to benefit from interventions even years after the injury, clinicians often lack clear and reliable treatment strategies to promote patient recovery. In response to this clinical need, the field of neuromodulation has emerged as a promising alternative to traditional pharmacologic therapies.

Background: Non-pharmacological interventions for perineal trauma are crucial for postpartum women's care, providing an alternative to excessive medication use and the associated potential adverse effects for both the woman and her newborn.

Aim: To map the non-pharmacological interventions studied in the context of childbirth-related perineal trauma over the years.

Methods: A systematic search was conducted on PubMed, BVS/Bireme, CINAHL, Embase, Scielo, ProQuest, ProQuest theses, Medline, Web of Science, and Scopus electronic databases.

Background: This clinical study aimed to evaluate the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS), Oswestry disability index (ODI), and Japanese Orthopedic Association (JOA) scores at 2, 4, 6, and 12 weeks, and the thickness of the 4th lumbar multifidus under ultrasound at 6 and 12 weeks, using musculoskeletal ultrasound (MU)-guided needle-knife loosening therapy for treating refractory nonspecific low back pain (RNSLBP) compared to usual care, to demonstrate the clinical efficacy of needle knife therapy for RNSLBP. This study used a single-blind, randomized controlled design.

Methods: A total of 66 patients with RNSLBP who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group of 33 patients.
