Brain metastasis is the most common intracranial malignancy in adults. The prognosis is extremely poor, partly because most patients have more than one brain lesion, and the currently available therapies are nonspecific or inaccessible to those occult metastases due to an impermeable blood-tumor barrier (BTB). Phosphatidylserine (PS) is externalized on the surface of viable endothelial cells (ECs) in tumor blood vessels.

Actinobacteria, pervasive in aquatic and terrestrial environments, exhibit a filamentous morphology, possess DNA with a specific G + C content and production of numerous secondary metabolites. This study, focused on actinobacteria isolated from marine seagrass, investigating their antibacterial activity against fish pathogens. Among 28 isolates, Streptomyces argenteolus TMA13 displayed the maximum zone of inhibition against fish pathogens-Aeromonas hydrophila (10 mm), Aeromonas caviae (22 mm), Edwardsiella tarda (17 mm), Vibrio harveyi (22 mm) and Vibrio anguillarum (12 mm) using the agar plug method.

We demonstrate label-free dynamic optical coherence tomography (D-OCT)-based visualization and quantitative assessment of patterns of tumor spheroid response to three anti-cancer drugs. The study involved treating human breast adenocarcinoma (MCF-7 cell-line) with paclitaxel (PTX), tamoxifen citrate (TAM), and doxorubicin (DOX) at concentrations of 0 (control), 0.1, 1, and 10 µM for 1, 3, and 6 days.

Ultrasound (US)-triggered microbubbles (MBs) drug delivery is a promising tool for noninvasive and localized therapy. Several studies have shown the potential of drug-loaded MBs to boost the delivery of therapeutic substances to target tissue effectively. Nevertheless, little is known about the surface payload distribution affecting the cavitation activity and drug release behavior of the drug-loaded MBs.
