(Decne.) Rgl. 1879 (family Asteraceae) is a perennial herb with high economic and medicinal values. In this study, we sequenced the complete chloroplast (cp) genome of by high-throughput Illumina sequencing. The size of the cp genome is 151,499 bp, with overall GC content of 37.3%. It contains a large single copy and a small single copy region of 83,078 bp and 18,457 bp, respectively, separated by a pair of inverted repeats regions of 24,982 bp. We also discovered 131 genes, including 86 protein-coding genes, 37 transfer RNA genes, and 8 ribosomal RNA genes in the genome. The maximum-likelihood phylogenetic tree demonstrated that is closely related to .

is a member of the Styracaceae family, which is well-known for its remarkable ornamental and medicinal properties. In this research, we conducted comparative analysis of the chloroplast genomes from four samples of representing . The results demonstrated that the chloroplast genome of four samples ranging from 157,103 bp to 158,357 bp exhibited a typical quadripartite structure, including one large single-copy (LSC) region (90,131 bp to 90,342 bp), one small single-copy (SSC) region (18,467 bp to 18,785 bp), and two inverted repeat regions (IRs) (24,115 bp to 24,261 bp).

Background: Zanthoxylum L., an important genus in the Rutaceae family, has great edible and medical values. However, the high degree of morphological similarity among species and the lack of sufficient chloroplast (cp) genomic resources have greatly impeded germplasm identification and phylogenetic analyses of
