Subcapsular haematoma of the liver in pregnancy is a rare complication, however life-threatening for both mother and fetus. Although it is usually associated with pre-eclampsia, a wide range of presentations can occur. Given its consequences, early diagnosis and management are essential for a successful outcome. Due to paucity of evidence, there is no current guidelines on this topic. Our aim is to add a new insight into diagnosis and management of subcapsular hepatic haematoma in pregnancy, for which new technologies in the fields of image, and minimal invasive surgery are playing an important role.

Background: To evaluate the biosafety, reduction in anterior capsule opacification, and fluctuation in intraocular pressure (IOP) of a new phakic refractive lens (PRL) with a sinusoidal drainage groove design.
Methods: This self-controlled experiment was performed on eight eyes of four rabbits. Each rabbit was implanted with a sinusoidal PRL (PRL-S5) in the right eye and a conventional posterior chamber PRL (PC-PRL) in the left eye.

Spontaneous hepatic rupture is a rare complication that occurs in pregnant mothers with HELLP syndrome, or preeclampsia with severe features, or eclampsia. The most common symptom of hepatic rupture/hematoma is right upper quadrant pain or epigastric pain, which is similar to the presentation of preeclampsia with severe features. Therefore, the absence of specific signs and symptoms leads to a diagnostic dilemma and a delay in management.

The limited replicative potential of primary hepatocytes (Hep) is a major hurdle for obtaining sufficient quantity and quality hepatocytes during cell therapy in patients with liver failure. Intrahepatic cholangiocyte organoids (ICOs) derived from intrahepatic bile ducts differentiate into both hepatocytes and cholangiocytes . Here, we studied effects of transplanting ICOs and Hep in chronic liver injury mice models.
