The ubiquitin-26S proteasome system (UPS) is associated with protein stability and activity, regulation of hormone signaling, and the production of secondary metabolites in plants. Though the mechanism of action of SmMYB36 on the tanshinone and phenolic acid biosynthesis is well understood, its regulation through post-translational modifications is unclear. A constitutive photomorphogenesis 9 (COP9) signalosome subunit 5 (SmCSN5), which interacted with SmMYB36 and inhibited its ubiquitination-based degradation, was identified in .

To ensure food safety and quality, sensitive and accurate methods for rapidly detecting mycotoxins have become imperative. Zeranols (ZERs) are a class of mycotoxins commonly found in cereals, posing serious health risks, including hormonal disruption and carcinogenic potential. In response to this pressing concern, we have developed a simple yet highly sensitive and high-throughput supramolecular sensing approach based on novel macrocycles known as extended biphen[]arenes for monitoring ZERs in cereal matrices.

Major depressive disorder (MDD) is a widespread psychiatric condition with substantial socioeconomic impacts, yet single-target pharmacotherapies often yield responses. To address its multifactorial nature, this study employed a multiscale network analysis of herbs, their active components, and MDD-associated protein targets. Using a biased random walk with restart, we calculated interactions between disease-related and herb-derived targets, identifying herbs highly correlated with MDD.

This study aimed to investigate the impact of letrozole and crocin on Leydig cells on busulfan-induced azoospermia using a rat model. A sample population consisting of thirty male rats was randomly assigned to five groups: (1) the control group, (2) azoospermia group, (3) azoospermia group treated with letrozole, (4) azoospermia group treated with crocin, and (5) azoospermia group treated with both letrozole and crocin. The treatment period with letrozole and crocin lasted for four weeks following busulfan administration.

Type 3 resistant starch (RS3) regulates diet-related metabolic diseases by promoting intestinal short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) and lactate production, and facilitating microbial lactate-to-butyrate fermentation. However, its precise in vivo mechanism remains unclear. Therefore, we studied the effects of type 3 lotus seed resistant starch (LRS3) and sodium lactate (SL) on colonic microbiota composition, metabolism, and lipid parameters.
