Clinical ultrasound contrast agent microbubbles remain intravascular and are between 1-8 µm in diameter, with a volume-weighted mean size of 2-3 µm. Despite their worldwide clinical utility as a diagnostic contrast agent, and their continued and ongoing success as a local therapeutic vector, the fundamental interplay between microbubbles - including bubble-bubble interaction and the effects of a neighboring viscoelastic vessel wall, remain poorly understood. In this work, we developed a finite element model to study the physics of the complex system of two different-sized bubbles (2 and 3 µm in diameter) confined within a viscoelastic vessel from a resonance response perspective (3-12 MHz).

Hypothesis: Plant-based proteins offer a sustainable solution for stabilizing multiphase food materials like edible foams and emulsions. However, challenges in understanding and engineering plant protein-stabilized interfaces persist, mostly because of the commonly poorer functionality and complex composition of the respective protein isolates. We hypothesize that part of the limited understanding is related to the lack of experimental data on the length-scale of the thin liquid film that separates two neighboring bubbles.

The hydrodynamic and thermal interactions between neighboring vapor bubbles on hot surfaces play a crucial role in heat transport and flow characteristics. To investigate these interactions, we conducted numerical simulations of saturated vapor bubbles in a two-dimensional square enclosure filled with liquid water. The water was heated at the bottom and cooled at the top to replicate boiling at 100^{∘}C and normal atmospheric pressure.

Previously, we described that Adenine, Thymine, Cytosine, and Guanine nucleobases were superconductors in a quantum superposition of phases on each side of the central hydrogen bond acting as a Josephson Junction. Genomic DNA has two strands wrapped helically around one another, but during transcription, they are separated by the RNA polymerase II to form a molecular condensate called the transcription bubble. Successive steps involve the bubble translocation along the gene body.

External field driven fluid manipulation, in particular electric field, offers the advantages of real-time control and exceptional flexibility, rendering it highly promising for applications in microfluidic devices, liquid separation and energy catalysis. However, it is still challenging for controlled liquid transport and fine control of droplet splitting. Herein, we demonstrate a strategy to achieve direction-controlled liquid transport and fine droplet splitting on an anisotropic groove-microstructured electrode surface an electrically switched asymmetric interface.
