Lawsone (2-hydroxy-1,4-naphthoquinone), also known as hennotannic acid, is a red-orange dye present in the leaves of the henna plant () having lots of biological activities. In this paper, we have investigated the structural basis of binding affinities of Lawsone towards two different targets namely, calf thymus DNA (CT-DNA) and protein bovine serum albumin (BSA) using experimental and computational approaches. This phytochemical binds to the minor groove of DNA and Sudlow site II, Domain III of BSA.

Pharmacotherapies are common therapeutic interventions in patient care. Despite most medications being self-managed by patients at home, little attention has been paid to medication risks in the outpatient medication management process. As community pharmacies dispense medicines to outpatients, they are well-positioned to decrease preventable harm by implementing systemic medication risk management practices.

The European Union (EU) has set itself the goal of becoming a resource-efficient circular economy. It has therefore begun tackling its increasing amounts of packaging waste using both regulations and strategies, with member countries aiming to increase their recycling rates for plastic packaging to 55% by 2030. However, the EU member states have different methods for collecting data on waste recycling rates, which makes it difficult to compare their performance in reaching that target.

Objective: To investigate the difference in gut microbiota between population with damp-heat constitution (DHC) and balanced constitution (BC).
Methods: A multi-centered cross-sectional case-control study was conducted, which included 249 participants with damp-heat constitution or balanced constitution. Baseline information of participants was collected, and stool samples were collected for gut microbiota analysis.
