Introduction: 58 million people worldwide are chronically infected with hepatitis C virus (HCV) and are at risk of developing cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Direct-acting antivirals are highly effective; however, they are burdened by high costs and the unchanged risk of HCC and reinfection, making prophylactic countermeasures an urgent medical need. HCV high genetic diversity is one of the main obstacles to vaccine development.

The necessity of prophylactic cytoreductive surgery (PCRS) and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) for low-grade appendiceal mucinous neoplasms (LAMN) after complete removal is still controversial. This study aims to determine the role of PCRS + HIPEC and identify optimal strategies for managing these patients. One hundred fifty-nine patients who sought medical advice at Aerospace Center Hospital were retrospectively analyzed from January 2011 to December 2021.

The role of prophylactic cranial irradiation (PCI) in patients with limited-stage small-cell lung cancer (LS-SCLC) remains controversial in the era of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The present study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of PCI in the treatment of LS-SCLC in the era of MRI. The PubMed, EMBASE and Cochrane Library databases were searched from the time of database creation until May 24, 2023, to identify clinical studies that evaluated the effectiveness of PCI in patients with LS-SCLC in the MRI era.

Febrile neutropenia is associated with increased risks of infection and hospitalization, a particular concern during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Oncology nurses and advanced practice providers (APPs; including nurse practitioners, physician assistants, advanced practice nurses, and pharmacists) play a vital role in the management of patients with cancer and the prevention of infections.

Background: Premenopausal risk-reducing salpingo-oophorectomy (RRSO) in women at high familial risk of ovarian cancer leads to immediate menopause. Although early natural menopause is associated with increased cardiovascular disease risk, evidence on long-term cardiovascular disease risk after early surgical menopause is scarce.
Objectives: We sought to determine the long-term influence of the timing of RRSO on the development of coronary artery calcium (CAC), an established marker for cardiovascular disease risk.
