Self-assembly of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) into highly ordered superstructures provides a promising route toward fabricating materials with new functionalities or enhanced physical properties. Although self-assembly of AuNPs has garnered significant research attention recently, a highly ordered superlattice of AuNPs under a low concentration in a confined geometry formed by nonfunctionalized materials has not been reported. Herein, we investigate the self-assembly of a 2D AuNPs superlattice in a polymer vesicle layer using hydrophobic interactions, which exhibits centered rectangular lattice symmetry. To create the highly ordered AuNPs superlattice, the P(EG--iPGE) block copolymers that form the thickness of the hydrophobic vesicle layer comparable to the size of the AuNP are used as a template to control the AuNP degree of freedom. To the best of our knowledge, this study provides the first demonstration of a centered rectangular structure formation of AuNPs at the vesicle layer in 2D confined geometry.

The considerable abundance and remarkable stability of sEVs provide substantial benefits for diagnosing Alzheimer's disease. Therefore, precise tracking subtypes of small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) is crucial for screening novel diagnostic biomarkers and developing therapeutic technologies. We propose a three-target recognition-mediated proximity ligation assay for the precise identification of sEV subtypes utilizing three specifically designed probes: one for the exosomal surface protein CD63 recognition, one for fixing the biolipid layer, and the third for the identification of distinctive protein associated with a specific subtype of sEVs (L1CAM positive sEVs).

They have the same membrane composition and characteristics as primitive cells, which enables them to penetrate cells and tissues efficiently. These OMVs exhibit excellent membrane stability, immunogenicity, safety, and permeability (which makes it easier for them to penetrate into tumour tissue), making them suitable for developing cancer vaccines and drug delivery systems.

Itraconazole (ITZ) is a potent antifungal agent. Its oral administration is associated with systemic toxicity, and its efficacy in ocular formulations is limited. This study aims to enhance ITZ's ocular permeation and antifungal efficacy by loading it into deformable liposomes (DLs) based on Tween 80 (T) or Poloxamer 188 (P).

The study of self-assembly in confined spaces has gained significant attention among amphiphilic superstructures and colloidal design. The additional complexity introduced by interactions between contents and their containers, along with the effects of shape and lipid mixing, makes multivesicular bodies an interesting subject of study. Despite its promising applications in biomedicine, such as drug delivery and biomimetic materials, much remains unexplored.

Current pharmacotherapy for DED is limited by a vicious inflammatory cycle in which reactive oxygen species (ROS) play a critical role. Additionally, topical eye drop therapy for DED often suffers from poor ocular availability due to multiple ocular surface barriers. Considering the key role of the ROS-NLRP3-IL-1β signaling axis in DED, in this investigation, fluorinated multifunctional polymer vesicles were developed for enhanced ocular surface penetration and synergistic DED therapy by combining ROS scavenging and immunomodulation.
