Purpose: To measure the macular retinal vessel density (VD) and peripapillary retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) in primary angle-closure suspects (PACS) by Angio-OCT to be compared with normal subjects.

Methods: Primary angle-closure suspect patients and normal subjects were enrolled in this study. The demographic and clinical characteristics of all subjects, such as RNFL thickness, retinal vessel density, and ocular perfusion pressure, were compared.

Results: No significant difference was found in both groups on age, sex distribution, intraocular pressure (IOP), and retinal vessel density. The PACS group exhibited significantly thicker RNFL thickness compared with the control group. The deep vessel density was negatively associated with age ( = -0.034), while IOP had negative association with ACD ( = -0.019). OPP was independently associated with RNFL ( = 0.334, = 0.038) in the PACS group.

Conclusions: OCTA showed significant thicker change on RNFL in the PACS group. Only OPP was independently associated with RNFL in the PACS group.

Purpose: To evaluate changes in the retinal microvasculature using widefield swept-source optical coherence tomography angiography (SS-OCTA) following three anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (anti-VEGF) loading injections for diabetic macular edema (DME).

Methods: Thirty-four treatment-naïve patients with DME received an initial three loading injections, followed by injections on an as-needed basis. Macular ischemia was evaluated based on the foveal avascular zone (FAZ) area, perfusion density, and vessel density on a 3 × 3-mm SS-OCTA image.

Background: Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is currently a clinical diagnosis characterized by decline in memory and daily cognitive function from baseline. Exploratory studies using optical coherence tomography angiography have reported alterations in the retinal capillary plexus vessel density and attenuation of the retinal nerve fiber layer, but these results appear to be mixed. We used ultra-widefield (UWF) imaging to evaluate retinal and choroidal vasculature and structure in individuals with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) compared to controls with normal cognition.

Background: White matter hyperintensities (WMH) were reported to contribute to the thinning of regional cortex connected to WMH in cerebral small vessel disease. However, the relationship between WMH and regional changes in WMH-connected cortex in Alzheimer's disease (AD) remains unclear. The objective of this study is to investigate the association between WMH and regional cortical thickness, amyloid and tau deposition, and synaptic density changes in the WMH-connected cortex.

Background: Memory clinic patients typically present with Alzheimer's disease (AD) and cerebral small vessel disease (SVD) to varying degrees. Therefore, it is crucial to determine the etiology of cognitive deficits for facilitating patient-centered treatment in memory clinics. Plasma biomarkers (ptau, Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protein [GFAP], Neurofilament light chain [NfL]) and fixel-based advanced diffusion MRI markers (fiber density, fiber-bundle cross-section) show potential towards disentangling AD- and SVD-related brain changes (Dewenter et al.
