Schistosomiasis is a tropical infection endemic to developing nations that can result in chronic liver damage, renal failure, infertility, and bladder cancer. Genitourinary localization is marked by dysuria, visible hematuria, and urinary obstruction. We present the case of a 17-year-old male adolescent from a rural area of Central Africa, who arrived in Italy two years prior, exhibiting hematuria and urinary symptoms.

Unlabelled: Neuroschistosomiasis, a rare manifestation of schistosomiasis affecting the central nervous system (CNS), can result in severe neurological complications if not promptly diagnosed and treated. The condition arises due to the development of granulomas around eggs that become lodged within the CNS. Here we present a case report involving a young Filipino individual who had recurrent, uncontrolled seizures, ultimately attributed to neuroschistosomiasis.

The milky spots are structures found in the omentum of humans and other vertebrates, representing a fraction of the lymphomyeloid tissue associated with the celom. They majorly consist of B lymphocytes, T lymphocytes, and macrophages. Also found in smaller quantities are mesothelial, stromal, dendritic, and rare mast cells.
