Objective: We aimed to investigate the occurrence and factors influencing early visual acuity (VA) outcomes and reoperation rates in patients with open globe injuries (OGI) and develop a nomogram for predicting early visual acuity outcomes and reoperation rate.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective review of data from 121 patients with treated OGI. Relevant information of all patients with OGI were collected after a 1-month timeframe post-surgery.

Postoperative disorders of consciousness can arise from various factors, making diagnosis challenging. This report presents a case of a disorder of consciousness that occurred after awakening from general anesthesia, in which various examinations including computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) were conducted, but the cause could not be identified. A man in his 60s with a history of hypertension and cerebral hemorrhage underwent revision total hip arthroplasty under general anesthesia for a left periprosthetic hip fracture.

We report a case of a 39-year-old male patient who developed propofol-induced fasciculations during the induction of general anesthesia. The patient had a history of moderate obstructive sleep apnea and was intolerant to continuous positive airway pressure therapy. He subsequently underwent the insertion of a hypoglossal nerve stimulator as a viable surgical intervention.
