Objective: The aim of this study was to compare Transimpedance Matrix (TIM-) measurement and X-ray fluoroscopy for the intraoperative detection of electrode array tip fold-over in cochlear implant recipients.

Study Design: Retrospective agreement study.

Setting: Tertiary referral hospital.

Patients: Forty-two patients (47 ears) consecutively implanted with the Slim Modiolar Electrode.

Interventions: Five raters, with different levels of clinical experience, individually retrospectively evaluated the TIM-heatmaps and X-ray fluoroscopy images of all patients included in this study for electrode array tip fold-over.

Main Outcome Measures: Agreement between raters' individual evaluation and the diagnosis given during clinical intraoperative evaluation for both modalities, as well as the inter-method agreement between TIM-measurement and fluoroscopy, and the inter-rater agreement for both modalities.

Results: A tip fold-over was found in three of the forty-seven implantations (6.4%) included in this study. The average agreement between raters' evaluation and the intraoperative evaluation was 88% (Cohens κ = 0.378) for fluoroscopy and 99% (Cohens κ = 0.915) for TIM-measurement. Two raters misdiagnosed at least one tip fold-over as being correctly positioned when evaluating the fluoroscopy images (1/3 and 3/3, respectively). Each of the raters correctly detected all three tip fold-overs using the TIM-heatmaps. The inter-rater agreement for fluoroscopy was classified as "fair" (Fleiss' κ = 0.286), while the inter-rater agreement for TIM-measurement was classified as "near-perfect" (Fleiss' κ = 0.850).

Conclusions: TIM-measurement has a high potential to replace X-ray fluoroscopy for intraoperatively detecting electrode array tip fold-over in cochlear implantation, especially in patients implanted with flexible, precurved arrays.

Objective: To determine the feasibility, yield, and safety of fluoroscopic-guided aspiration of the acutely dislocated total hip arthroplasty (AD-THA).

Materials And Methods: IRB-approved, retrospective review of fluoroscopic-guided aspirations of AD-THA (January 2005-December 2023) was performed. Data from electronic charts and fluoroscopy images/reports were obtained.

Small-bore feeding tubes (SBFT) in vulnerable patients carry a risk of iatrogenic pneumothorax by misplacement into the lung. This institution noted a series of iatrogenic pneumothoraxes caused by the placement of these devices. A resident-led, multidisciplinary team developed a hospital guideline through a consensus-driven process.

Purpose Of The Study: Open (incisional) biopsies have long been accepted as the gold standard in diagnosing bone and soft tissue tumors. However, the main disadvantage of this method is that it can lead to increased contamination, hematoma, infection, and pathological fracture. Compared to open biopsies, percutaneous core needle biopsies are less invasive, do not require hospitalization, have low costs and low complication rates, and there is no need for wound healing in cases that require radiotherapy.

UniSA Allied Health & Human Performance, University of South Australia, Adelaide, SA 5001, Australia.

Introduction: Radiographers support the multidisciplinary team by facilitating medical imaging within the operating theatre environment. This project aimed to enhance student readiness for clinical competency in operative theatre imaging by implementing an authentic C-arm simulator for students to use prior to attending clinical placement.

Methods: This study followed a pre-post, quantitative study design.

Background: There is no consensus in the literature regarding the optimal treatment method for posterior pelvic ring injuries. This study aims to compare the radiologic and clinical outcomes, as well as complications of spinopelvic fixation (SPF) and iliosacral screw fixation (ISF) in patients with posterior pelvic ring injuries.

Methods: This retrospective study analyzed 54 patients (37 females, 17 males; mean age 38.
