Several biochemical cycles are performed in natural wetlands (NWs) and constructed wetlands (CWs). Knowledge of microorganisms can be used to monitor the restoration of wetlands and the performance of wastewater treatment. The phylum is the most abundant in NWs and CWs, which plays a role in nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and sulfur (S) cycles, and in the degradation of organic matter. Other phyla were present at lower abundance. Archaea participate in methanogenesis, methane oxidation, and methanogenic N fixation. S and P cycles are also performed by other microorganisms, such as and . In general, there is more information about the N cycle, especially nitrification and denitrification. Processes where archaea participate (e.g., methane oxidation and methanogenic N fixation) remain unclear, and several of these microorganisms have not been isolated so far. In this study, we used 16S rDNA or functional genes. The use of functional genes provides information to monitor specific microbial populations, and 16S rDNA is more suitable for taxonomic classification. In addition, several Candidatus microorganisms have not been isolated to date. However, their metabolic roles in the biochemical cycle of wetlands have been described.

The complete tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle, comprising a series of 8 oxidative reactions, occurs in most eukaryotes in the mitochondria and in many prokaryotes. The net outcome of these 8 chemical reactions is the release of the reduced electron carriers NADH and FADH, water, and carbon dioxide. The parasites of the .

Soil salinization adversely impacts plant and soil health. While amendment with chemicals is not sustainable, the application of bioinoculants suffers from competition with indigenous microbes. Hence, microbiome-based rhizosphere engineering, focussing on acclimatization of rhizosphere microbiome under selection pressure to facilitate plant growth, exhibits promise.

The dual specificity phosphatases (DUSPs) have emerged as important factors driving tumorigenesis and cancer therapy resistance. DUSP12 is a poorly characterized atypical DUSP widely conserved throughout evolution.

Unlike canonical cyclins, which bind and activate cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs), Cyclin F functions as a substrate receptor protein within the Skp1-Cullin-F box (SCF) E3 ubiquitin ligase complex, enabling the ubiquitylation of target proteins. The structural features that distinguish Cyclin F as a ligase adaptor and the mechanisms underlying its selective substrate recruitment over Cyclin A, which functions in complex with CDK2 at a similar time in the cell cycle, remain largely unexplored.

Background: Modern assisted reproductive technology (ART), including pre-implantation genetic testing for aneuploidy (PGT-A), has opened new avenues in understanding early embryonic events and has simultaneously raised questions about the impact of ART itself on sex ratios.
Aims: The primary aim was to investigate whether patient demographic characteristics, ovarian stimulation protocols or laboratory characteristics in ART influence sex ratios. The secondary aim was to relate the blastocyst sex ratio (BSR) to the corresponding secondary sex ratio (SSR) in our patient cohort.
