LncRNA-miRNA interactions contribute to the regulation of therapeutic targets and diagnostic biomarkers in multifarious human diseases. However, it remains difficult to experimentally identify lncRNA-miRNA associations at large scale, and computational prediction methods are limited. In this study, we developed a network distance analysis model for lncRNA-miRNA association prediction (NDALMA). Similarity networks for lncRNAs and miRNAs were calculated and integrated with Gaussian interaction profile (GIP) kernel similarity. Then, network distance analysis was applied to the integrated similarity networks, and final scores were obtained after confidence calculation and score conversion. Our model obtained satisfactory results in fivefold cross validation, achieving an AUC of 0.8810 and an AUPR of 0.8315. Moreover, NDALMA showed superior prediction performance over several other network algorithms, and we tested the suitability and flexibility of the model by comparing different types of similarity. In addition, case studies of the relationships between lncRNAs and miRNAs were conducted, which verified the reliability of our method in predicting lncRNA-miRNA associations. The datasets and source code used in this study are available at https://github.com/Liu-Lab-Lnu/NDALMA .

The scientific establishment of the Ecological Security Pattern (ESP) is crucial for fostering the synergistic development of ecological and recreational functions, thereby enhancing urban ecological protection, recreational development, and sustainable growth. This study aimed to propose a novel method of constructing ESP considering both ecological and recreational functions, and to reconstruct ESP by weighing the relationship between ecological protection and recreational development. Utilizing Fuzhou City as a case study, a comprehensive application of methodologies including Morphological Spatial Pattern Analysis (MSPA), landscape connectivity analysis, ArcGIS spatial analysis, social network analysis (SNA), and circuit theory is employed to develop both the ESP and the Recreational Spatial Pattern (RSP).

In higher plants, sugars are the primary products of photosynthesis, where in CO is converted into organic carbon within the mesophyll cells of leaves. These sugars serve as a critical source of carbon skeletons for the biosynthesis of essential cellular compounds, energy production, and as osmotic and signaling molecules. Plant sugar transporter proteins play a key role in facilitating the long-distance translocation of sugars from source to sink organs, thereby controlling their distribution and accumulation across the plant.

General Directorate of Welfare, Regione Lombardia, Milano, Italy.

Introduction: Here we reported the virological, entomological and epidemiological characteristics of the large autochthonous outbreak of dengue (DENV) occurred in a small village of the Lombardy region (Northern Italy) during summer 2023.

Methods: After the diagnosis of the first autochthonous case on 18 August 2023, public health measures, including epidemiological investigation and vector control measures, were carried out. A serological screening for DENV antibodies detection was offered to the population.

Purpose: To elucidate the structural-functional connectivity (SC-FC) coupling in white matter (WM) tracts in patients with major depressive disorder (MDD).

Methods: A total of 178 individuals diagnosed with MDD and 173 healthy controls (HCs) were recruited for this study. The Euclidean distance was calculated to assess SC-FC coupling.

With the continuous development of intelligent transportation systems, traffic safety has become a major societal concern, and vehicle trajectory anomaly detection technology has emerged as a crucial method to ensure safety. However, current technologies face significant challenges in handling spatiotemporal data and multi-feature fusion, including difficulties in big data processing, and have room for improvement in these areas. To address these issues, this paper proposes a novel method that combines autoencoders, Mahalanobis distance, and dynamic Bayesian networks for anomaly detection.
