Mild testicular hyperthermia by the photothermal effect of gold nanorods could realize controllable male contraception. However, associated limitations, such as testicular administration and infrared laser inflicting severe pain, and the nondegradability of nanoparticles potentially causing toxicity, have restricted further clinical application. Inspired by the excellent physicochemical properties of iron oxide nanoparticles (IONPs), and the finding that testicular injection of PEG-coated IONPs with a diameter of 50 nm (PEG@FeO-50) following an alternating magnetic field (AMF) could achieve controllable male contraception; here we propose a noninvasive, targeting approach for male contraception via intravenous administration. The magnetic properties and testes targeting of IONPs were proven to be greatly affected by their surface chemistry and particle size. After systemic administration, citric acid stabilized IONPs with size of 100 nm (CA@FeO-100) were found to be the best ideal thermoagent for realizing the noninvasive contraception. This study offers new strategies for male contraception.

The sexual and reproductive health (SRH) needs of youths in sub-Saharan Africa are not being fully met, as evidenced by high rates of unintended pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections in this population. Understanding service needs and preferences of sub-Saharan African youths aged 10-24 years is critical for improving access and SRH outcomes and the focus of this systematic review of qualitative research. Four databases were searched with key words to identify relevant studies, supplemented by citation search, with an update in June 2023.

Introduction: The research explores the association between son preference, utilization of modern contraception, and fertility intention among polygynous families in Pakistan.
Method: Logistic regression, margins plot, and propensity score matching techniques were implied for the analysis, using demographic and health surveys 2017-2018.
Results: The results reveal higher odds for using modern contraception (0.

Background: Postpartum contraception is typically provided during postpartum visits. When desired and accessible, the immediate postpartum period provides an additional opportunity to increase the use of more effective contraceptive methods to potentially reduce subsequent unintended pregnancies and improve pregnancy outcomes. In New York State, recent policy changes expanded Medicaid coverage to include immediate postplacental intrauterine device insertion.

Background: Modern contraceptives are crucial for reducing maternal and child mortality, yet Mozambique's contraceptive prevalence rate is very low, with significant regional disparities. This study investigates geographic variation in contraceptive use and the individual, community, and regional factors influencing it to guide equitable family planning interventions.
Methods: This study utilized data from the 2022/23 Mozambique Demographic and Health Survey, analyzing a weighted sample of 9,316 women aged 15-49.
