This Perspective Paper explores the challenges of implementing local initiatives guided by the tenets of the Collective Impact (CI) approach. As such, it draws implications of CI for integrated health and social care efforts to improve and sustain health and social outcomes within a community-wide context, based on our efforts to deploy a CI intervention in the regional town of Muswellbrook, New South Wales (NSW) Australia. A program of health and wellbeing activities providing mental health and wellness messages and activities was implemented in the township over 2 years by the Family Action Centre (FAC), University of Newcastle, Australia. A key takeaway was the importance of authentic community engagement and active involvement as opposed to mere consultation.

We model an adaptive agent-based environment using selfish algorithm agents (SA-agents) that make decisions along three choice dimensions as they play the multi-round prisoner's dilemma game. The dynamics that emerge from mutual interactions among the SA-agents exhibit two collective-level properties that mirror living systems, thus making these models suitable for societal/biological simulation. The properties are: emergent intelligence and collective agency.

As virality has become increasingly central in shaping information sources' strategies, it raises concerns about its consequences for society, particularly when referring to the impact of viral news on the public discourse. Nonetheless, there has been little consideration of whether these viral events genuinely boost the attention received by the source. To address this gap, we analyze content timelines from over 1000 European news outlets from 2018 to 2023 on Facebook and YouTube, employing a Bayesian structural time series model to evaluate the impact of viral posts.

For consideration of uncertainties of a medicine dataset, a new conceptual architecture fuzzy three-valued logic is introduced in this research work. The proposed concept is applied to the heart disease dataset for the assessment of heart disease risk in individuals. By comparison of three binary (0,1) input variables, the variables' uncertainties and their collective impact can be analyzed that provide complete information leading to better outcome prediction.

Background: While benefits of involving consumers in research are well established, bereaved parents face unique challenges, and descriptions of their experiences with co-designed stillbirth research are lacking. The collective experience of 'Project Engage' involved co-designing resources to support bereaved parents' involvement in research.
Methods: This study aimed to describe and evaluate the involvement of bereaved parents as co-investigators of a stillbirth research project.

Charge transport in materials has an impact on a wide range of devices based on semiconductor, battery, or superconductor technology. Charge transport in sliding charge density waves (CDW) differs from all others in that the atomic lattice is directly involved in the transport process. To obtain an overall picture of the structural changes associated to the collective transport, the large coherent x-ray beam generated by an x-ray free-electron laser (XFEL) source was used.
