Development of novel functionalized adsorbents for efficient magnetic solid phase extraction (MSPE) is essential for promoting their versatile applications in sample pretreatment. Herein, we report the fabrication of a new polyethyleneimine-600 decorated magnetic microporous organic network nanosphere (FeO@MON-PEI) for effective MSPE of trace non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) from different water samples. The core-shelled FeO@MON-PEI integrates the synergistic effects of FeO, MON and PEI, providing facile and effective extraction to NSAIDs via multiple hydrogen bonding, π-π and hydrophobic interactions. The inner MON shell employs π-π and hydrophobic interaction sites and the outer PEI-600 coat acts as the hydrogen bonding doner/receptor, which affords good extraction performance for NSAIDs. Under optimal conditions, the FeO@MON-PEI-MSPE-HPLC-UV method gives wide linear range (0.14-400 μg L), low limits of detection (0.042-0.149 μg L), good precisions (intra-day and inter-day RSDs < 4.5%, n = 6), and large enrichment factors (97.0-98.2). Extraction mechanisms and selectivity of FeO@MON-PEI are evaluated in detail. Moreover, FeO@MON-PEI is successfully applied to enrich the trace NSAIDs in different water samples with the concentrations of 0.7 and 0.8 μg L for 1-naphthylacetic acid, 0.5 and 0.1 μg L for naproxen as well as 0.7 μg L for ibuprofen, respectively. The developed method not only affords a novel and efficient magnetic adsorbent for NSAIDs in aqueous media at trace level, but also provides a new strategy for the rational design and synthesis of multiple functionalized MON composites in sample pretreatment.

Considering the widespreadly use, large consumption, and serious environmental and health threats of phenylpyrazole insecticides (PPIs), development of a selective and sensitive method for accurate detection of their residuals in food samples is of great significance and challenging. Herein, depending on the hydrophobic and F-containing characteristics of PPIs, a novel fluorinated magnetic microporous organic network (FMMON) was designed and prepared for efficient and selective magnetic solid-phase extraction (MSPE) of two typical PPIs (fipronil and ethiprole) from milk and egg samples before the HPLC-UV determination. FMMON owned large specific surface area, multiple interaction sites, excellent magnetic separation performance and stability and exhibited good extraction and selectivity for fipronil and ethiprole through the specific F-F, hydrogen bonding, hydrophobic, and π-π interactions.

Tumor hypoxia significantly limits the effectiveness of radiotherapy, as oxygen is crucial for producing cancer-killing reactive oxygen species. To address this, we synthesized nanosized faujasite (PBS-Na-FAU) zeolite crystals using clinical-grade phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) as the solvent, ensuring preserved crystallinity, microporous volume, and colloidal stability. The zeolite nanocrystals showed enhanced safety profiles and , and studies showed no apparent toxicity to animals.

CYP2C19 gene single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) should be considered in the clinical use of clopidogrel as they have important guiding value for predicting the risk of bleeding and thrombosis after clopidogrel treatment. The CRISPR/Cas system is increasingly used for SNP detection owing to its single-nucleotide mismatch specificity. Simultaneous detection of multiple SNPs for rapid identification of the CYP2C19 genotype is important, but there is no method to detect a wide variety of CYP2C19 SNPs.

Hot dry rock (HDR) geothermal development faces challenges due to the difficulty of stimulating fluid flow and heat-exchange fracture channels within deep, low-porosity, and low-permeability reservoirs. A liquid nitrogen cyclic cold shock method was proposed, using liquid nitrogen as a fracturing fluid. The large temperature difference between the liquid nitrogen and the hot rock induces thermal stress, forming a complex pore-fracture network.

Due to the complex physical properties of low-permeability glutenite reservoirs, the oil recovery rate with conventional development is low. Surfactants are effective additives for enhanced oil recovery (EOR) due to their good ability of wettability alteration and interfacial tension (IFT) reduction, but the reason why imbibition efficiencies vary with different types of surfactants and the mechanism of enhanced imbibition in the glutenite reservoirs is not clear. In this study, the imbibition efficiency and recovery of surfactants including the nonionic, anionic, and cationic surfactants as well as nanofluids were evaluated and compared with produced water (PW) using low-permeability glutenite core samples from the Lower Urho Formation in the Mahu oil field.
