We report the case of a 15-year-old boy who developed eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) during cow's milk oral immunotherapy (CM-OIT). In order to not completely invalidate OIT benefits, baked milk-containing foods were allowed instead of a strict CM-free diet. However, histological remission of EoE was reached only after a strict cow's milk-free diet, not associated to pharmacological treatment. Nevertheless, given the limited data on real incidence of food OIT related EoE and potential beneficial treatment for this condition, we highlight the need of prospective studies aimed to evaluate if a strict CM free diet in OIT related EoE is always necessary to obtain remission of the disease or similarly to CM EoE, baked milk-containing foods" diet could be abeneficial treatment also in these patients.

Introduction: The possible health effects of consuming milk contaminated with heavy metals have been the subject of considerable concern worldwide.
Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the level of heavy metals in cow's milk in the vicinity of MIDROC Laga Dambi gold mine and to assess their possible health risks for consumers.
Methods: Nine composite samples were formed by aggregating 243 milk samples obtained in triplicates from 81 domestic milk-producing households.

Background: Food protein-induced enterocolitis syndrome (FPIES) is a non-IgE-mediated food allergy, characterized by delayed onset of repetitive vomiting occurring 1 to 4 h following ingestion of a food allergen. Managing FPIES requires strict avoidance of the food trigger. The concern with FPIES is determining the risk of another FPIES food trigger reaction due to potential coassociations with other foods or food groups.

Cow's milk allergy (CMA) is a common childhood food allergy associated with a significant burden for those children who are affected and their families, including unintentional exposures that result in allergic reactions, severe allergic reactions, and anaphylaxis. In young children, cow's milk is one of the most frequent food triggers in anaphylactic episodes, and fatalities have also been described as a result of unintentional exposures, which reinforces the notion that milk allergy can be severe in some individuals. The natural history of CMA is favorable, with the allergy resolving over time in the majority of individuals, although some will have persistent allergy that does not resolve.
