The research on orthorexia nervosa (ON) has thoroughly outlined the connection between it and various mental disorders, including obsessive-compulsive disorders and eating disorders, in addition to stress. However, research has not considered psychophysical stress and other measures of psychophysical health, such as adherence to the Mediterranean diet. This cross-sectional and case-control research involved 63 students from the University of Parma, aged between 18 and 49 years.

Orexin-A (OXA), a neuropeptide produced in the hypothalamus, is recognized for its role in modulating orofacial nociception and regulating feeding behaviors, as well as its impact on psychophysiological responses. This study investigated the role of orexin-1 receptors (OX1R) in modulating nociceptive behaviors induced by noxious stimulation of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and the associated changes in mood and feeding behaviors in rats with complete Freund's adjuvant (CFA)-induced temporomandibular disorders (TMDs). Bilateral cannulation of the lateral ventricles was performed in rats.

Self-efficacy is a key construct in behavioral science affecting mental health and psychopathology. Here, we expand on previously demonstrated between-persons self-efficacy effects. We prompted 66 patients five times daily for 14 days before starting cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to provide avoidance, hope, and perceived psychophysiological-arousal ratings.

This study investigated the psychophysiological and metabolomic changes during horticultural activities involving the inhalation of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in individuals experiencing depressive mood based on the presence or absence of the soil microbe Streptomyces rimosus, which emits VOCs. Thirty participants met the specific depression and anxiety criteria and engaged in horticultural activities using soil inoculated with S. rimosus (experimental group) or medium (control group).
