Under analysis were the course of acute pelviorectal paraproctitis in 39 patients, diagnostic errors and complications and resulting problems in cases of late medical consultation and tardy operative intervention. The correct diagnosis was made but in 19 patients in operation for purulent leaks. In 20 patients the disease was not diagnosed and treatment was limited by opening the purulent abscesses.
