Trypsin Modulating Oostatic Factor (TMOF) receptor was solubilized from the guts of female and cross linked to His-TMOF and purified by Ni affinity chromatography. SDS PAGE identified two protein bands (45 and 61 kDa). The bands were cut digested and analyzed using MS/MS identifying a protein sequence (1306 amino acids) in the genome of . The mRNA of the receptor was extracted, the cDNA sequenced and cloned into pTAC-MAT-2. was transformed with the recombinant plasmid and the receptor was expressed in the inner membrane of the bacterial cell. The binding kinetics of TMOF-FITC was then followed showing that the cloned receptor exhibits high affinity to TMOF (K = 113.7 ± 18 nM ± SEM and B = 28.7 ± 1.8 pmol ± SEM). Incubation of TMOF-FITC with cells that express the receptor show that the receptor binds TMOF and imports it into the bacterial cells, indicating that in mosquitoes the receptor imports TMOF into the gut epithelial cells. A 3D modeling of the receptor indicates that the receptor has ATP binding sites and TMOF transport into recombinant cells is inhibited with ATPase inhibitors Na Arsenate and Na Azide.

Early diagnosis is critical for providing a timely window for effective therapy in pulmonary fibrosis (PF); however, achieving this remains a significant challenge. The distinct honeycombing patterns observed in computed tomography (CT) for the primary diagnosis of PF are typically only visible in patients with moderate to severe disease, often leading to missed opportunities for early intervention. In this study, we developed a nanoprobe designed to accumulate at fibroblastic foci and loaded with the CT sensitizer iodide to enable effective early diagnosis of PF.

Background: The increased apoptosis of bile duct epithelial cells (BECs) due to some damage factors is considered the initiating factor in the occurrence and progression of biliary atresia (BA). Vitamin D receptor (VDR) is thought to play a crucial role in maintaining the intrinsic immune balance and integrity of bile duct epithelial cells (BECs). To investigate the role of VDRs in the pathogenesis and progression of BA using in vitro and in vivo models.

Background: Due to sexual dimorphism in growth of penaeid shrimp, all-female cultivation is desirable for the aquaculture industry. 17β-estradiol (E2) has the potential to induce the male-to-female sex reversal of decapod species. However, the mechanisms behind it remain poorly understood.

The present study investigated the role of the neurotensin/NTS in the modulation of the lipopolysaccharide/LPS induced dysfunction of the sympatho-adrenal-medullary system/SAM using both the NTS receptor 1/NTSR agonist PD149163/PD and antagonist SR48692 /SR. Forty eight mice were maintained in eight groups; Group I/control, Groups II, III, IV, and VII received LPS for 5 days further Group III/IV/VII received PD low dose/PD, PD high dose /PD and SR for 28 days respectively. Group V/VI received similar only PD and PD dose respectively whereas Group VIII was exposed to only SR for 28 days.

Background: The identification of circulating potential biomarkers may help earlier diagnosis of breast cancer, which is critical for effective treatment and better disease outcomes. We aimed to study the role of circ-FAF1 as a diagnostic biomarker in female breast cancer using peripheral blood samples of these patients, and to investigate the relation between circ-FAF1 and different clinicopathological features of the included patients.
Methods And Results: This case-control study enrolled 60 female breast cancer patients and 60 age-matched healthy control subjects.
