A multiphase study designed with Delphi and observational components was conducted to establish the preliminary validity and reliability of the 2018 Vascular Access Complication Staging and Treatment Instrument in pediatric and neonatal populations from a single, free-standing academic children's hospital. The instrument uses objective measurement criterion to determine the severity of swelling and tissue damage to inform treatment decisions. The results of the study provided preliminary empirical evidence to support a pediatric and neonatal intravenous complication staging instrument to assess degree of swelling and severity of tissue injury. The study also offered preliminary evidence that the instrument was perceived by the nurses who participated in the study to be efficient and easy to use.

Background: Chemokines and their receptors, which regulate lymphoid organ development and immune cell trafficking, are integral to the mechanisms underlying viral control, hepatic inflammation, and liver damage in chronic hepatitis C (CHC) infection. This study explores the potential relationship between serum chemokine levels/polymorphisms and hepatitis C infection in affected individuals, with a particular focus on their utility as biomarkers across different stages of fibrosis.
Methods And Results: Serum levels of the chemokines CXCL11, CXCL12, and CXCL16 were measured in patients with mild/moderate and advanced fibrosis due to CHC, as well as in healthy controls, using the ELISA method.

Background: Current treatment of giant omphalocele in newborns is not standardized. The main treatments include one-time repair and staged surgery using synthetic and biologic mesh, or silos. However, surgery can lead to various postoperative complications.

Background: This study evaluates retinal oxygen saturation and vessel density within the macula and correlates these measures in controls and subjects with type 2 diabetes (DM) with (DMR) and without (DMnR) retinopathy. Changes in retinal oxygen saturation have not been evaluated regionally in diabetic patients.
Methods: Data from seventy subjects (28 controls, 26 DMnR, and 16 DMR were analyzed.

Background And Objective: It has been shown that androgen receptor pathway inhibitor (ARPIs) treatment for metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) improves overall survival rates, but ARPIs appear to be associated with a higher frequency of treatment-related neuroendocrine prostate cancer (t-NEPC). Our aim was to quantify the proportion of prostate adenocarcinoma cases that transition to t-NEPC following ARPI therapy.
Methods: We conducted a comprehensive search of the literature on t-NEPC using databases including MEDLINE and Scopus.

Objective: To evaluate the feasibility and safety of transvaginal natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery (vNOTES) for performing adnexectomy and high uterosacral ligament suspension (HUSLS) after vaginal hysterectomy (VH) under epidural anesthesia.
Method: This was a retrospective case series of 42 women who underwent VH for stage II or greater apical prolapse according to pelvic organ prolapse quantification (POP-Q); however, adnexectomy could not performed and replace the vNOTES technique. The procedure continued with vNOTES adnexectomy and bilateral HUSLS under epidural anesthesia.
