Both the biological effects and acoustic emissions generated by cavitation are functions of bubble dynamics. Monitoring of acoustic emissions is therefore desirable to improve treatment safety and efficacy. The relationship between the emission spectra and bubble dynamics is, however, complex.

Silica nanoparticles (SiO NPs) have numerous applications in agriculture, but may also pose significant risks to plants. Nevertheless, their bioaccumulation, an important determinant of their risks, was often not accurately measured due to the lack of reliable methods. In this study, the accumulation in rice seedlings of SiO NPs of different sizes without and with a gold nanoparticle core (Au@SiO NPs) was examined.

Resistant starch (RS) is present in various natural and processed foods as well as medications. It has garnered significant attention from both scientists and consumers due to its notable health benefits. However, there is a limited understanding of how RS particles are absorbed at the cellular level and their metabolic behavior, resulting in a lack of clarity regarding the intestinal safety implications of prolonged RS exposure.

Focused ultrasound (FUS) is a promising non-invasive therapeutic approach that can be used to generate thermal and non-thermal bioeffects. Several non-thermal FUS therapies rely on FUS-induced oscillations of microbubbles (MBs), a phenomenon referred to as cavitation. Cavitation monitoring in real time is essential to ensure both the efficacy and the safety of FUS therapies.
