Background: Puberty is a crucial developmental milestone that involves significant physiological, emotional, and behavioral changes. Early puberty onset, influenced by both biological and social factors, is associated with an increased risk of engaging in substance use, such as tobacco and marijuana. While high family income is generally linked to delayed puberty onset and lower behavioral risks, these benefits may not be equally protective for Black youth due to the phenomenon of Minorities' Diminished Returns (MDRs).

Introduction: Despite level 1 evidence supporting neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) followed by radical cystectomy (RC) for muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC), its adoption is hindered by concerns about toxicity and detrimental impact on post-RC complications. We retrospectively reviewed post-RC complications at a tertiary care hospital, particularly assessing impact of NACT.
Methods: Data from the institutional bladder cancer database were retrieved for patients aged ≥18 with MIBC (≥American Joint Committee on Cancer Clinical Stage T2), treated with RC between May 2013 and July 2023.

Emotional stimuli are preferentially processed in the visual system, in particular, fearful faces. Evidence comes from unimodal studies with emotional faces, although real-life emotional encounters typically involve input from multiple sensory channels, such as a face paired with a voice. Therefore, in this study, we investigated how emotional voices influence preferential processing of co-occurring emotional faces.

A scoping review was conducted to summarise available evidence and evaluate the use of the FL-MUAC approach in the screening for acute malnutrition in Africa. A systematic literature search was performed using electronic databases to identify relevant research documents investigating the FL-MUAC approach.
