Objectives: This study aimed to determine the correlation between alveolar cleft volume and fenestration and dehiscence in the adjacent alveolar bone in patients with unilateral cleft lip and palate (UCLP) using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) sections.
Materials And Methods: In this descriptive, cross-sectional study, CBCT scans of 68 non-syndromic patients with UCLP aged between 6 and14 years were selected. All patients were treated in Iran and had undergone lip and palate repair surgery within the first 3 to 18 months after birth. CBCT scans had been taken after orthodontic expansion and prior to alveolar bone grafting surgery. Cleft volume, fenestration and dehiscence were assessed using Mimics software. Data were analyzed using independent t-test, Kruskal-Wallis test, Spearman's correlation coefficient and logistic regression model.
Results: The mean alveolar cleft volume was 628.66±172.84 mm. There was a significant negative correlation between cleft volume and fenestration (P<0.001). Also, there was a significant positive correlation between cleft volume and dehiscence (P<0.001) in the adjacent bone.
Conclusion: The Mimics software can be successfully used to estimate the cleft volume prior to surgical procedures in UCLP patients. The results suggest that the alveolar cleft volume can be used as an aid to assess the periodontal condition of adjacent teeth. The cleft volume has a negative and positive correlation with fenestration and dehiscence respectively.

Introduction: The early diagnosis of mandibular asymmetry (MA) in patients with unilateral cleft lip and palate (UCLP) can contribute to its treatment.
Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the occurrence and the extent of MA in UCLP patients at different growth stages.
Methods: Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) of 47 UCLP patients were included, and divided into two groups (prepubertal stage and pubertal stage).

Objective: To assess craniofacial and upper airway growth in infants with Robin sequence (RS) during the 1 year of life when their severe upper airway obstruction was treated non-surgically with the Stanford orthodontic airway plate treatment program (SOAP).
Design: Retrospective longitudinal cohort study comparing SOAP-treated infants with RS (treatment group) with age-matched healthy controls (HC) using computed tomography (CT).
Setting: Single tertiary referral hospital.

Background: To evaluate the volume and the most constricted cross-sectional area (lumen) sizes of the upper pharyngeal airway among children with/without unilateral cleft lip and palate (UCLP) and with/without obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).
Methods: This prospective study was conducted on 66 Thai children aged 5 to 12 years, encompassing demographic information, polysomnographic data, and sex distribution: 34 with non-syndromic UCLP (16 with OSA; 18 without OSA) and 32 non-cleft children (16 with OSA; 16 without OSA). Subjects were divided into two age groups: preadolescent group (ages 10-12) and younger group (ages 5-9).

This study describes the epidemiological, clinical, and pathological aspects of an outbreak of ruminal acidosis and ruminitis caused by the ingestion of hedge lucerne (Desmanthus virgatus L.) in 70 cattle in the state of Paraiba, Northeastern Brazil. The herd had been transported from the state of Piauí to Paraiba.

Background: Machine learning (ML) has been widely applied to predict the outcomes of numerous diseases. The current study aimed to develop a prognostic prediction model using machine learning algorithms and identify risk factors associated with residual back pain in patients with osteoporotic vertebrae compression fracture (OVCF) following percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP).
Methods: A total of 863 OVCF patients who underwent PVP surgery were enrolled and analyzed.
