Introduction: Language barriers within clinical settings pose a threat to patient safety. As a potential impediment to understanding, they hinder the process of obtaining informed consent and uptake of critical medical information. This study investigates the impact of the current use of interpreters, with a particular focus on of engaging laypersons as interpreters, rather than professional interpreters potentially affecting patient safety.

Objective: People with epilepsy (PWEs) often face difficulties in obtaining or keeping employment. To determine the views on this topic of the heads of human resources (HHRs) and occupational physicians (OCPs).
Method: Twelve HHRs and five OCPs underwent a telephone interview concerning the opportunities and limitations of job applications for PWEs.

Objective: Bipolar disorder (BD), schizoaffective disorder (SAD), and schizophrenia (SCH) are psychiatric disorders characterized by persistent cognitive impairments, even during periods of remission. Psychotropic medications commonly used to manage these conditions have anticholinergic properties, which may contribute to cognitive impairment.
Methods: This study examined the relationship between anticholinergic medication burden and cognitive function in individuals diagnosed with BD, SAD, and SCH.

Objective: To evaluate radon mitigation frequency and possible determinants for mitigation among employers in Spain, before the new regulation came into force. We also aimed to assess the reasons for not mitigating radon.
Method: In this cross-sectional study, participants were systematically identified from all employers in Spain who had previously measured occupational radon through the Galician Radon Laboratory from 2015 until 2022.
