Science Advice for Policy by European Academies (SAPEA), part of the European Commission's Scientific Advice Mechanism, has published an evidence review report summarizing social science research seeking a sustainable food system for the European Union. Here, I reflect on its key findings and tease out foundational issues that the document raises for scientists and policymakers.

Background And Aim: Globally, COVID-19 has had a profound impact on food and nutrition security. This paper aims to gather the perspective from Transforming India's Green Revolution by Research and Empowerment for Sustainable food Supplies (TIGR2ESS) Flagship Project 6 (FP-6) team on the impact of COVID-19 on the food systems in India. The responses collected will be used for further research projects after TIGR2ESS ends in March 2022.

Objectives: Disease-related malnutrition (DRM) presents in up to half of adults and one-third of children admitted to Canadian hospitals and significantly impacts health outcomes. Strategies to screen, diagnose and treat DRM exist but policy to facilitate implementation and sustainability are lacking.
