This paper examines the predictive power of oil supply, demand and risk shocks over the realized volatility of intraday oil returns. Utilizing the heterogeneous autoregressive realized volatility (HAR-RV) framework, we show that all shock terms on their own, and particularly financial market driven risk shocks, significantly improve the forecasting performance of the benchmark HAR-RV model, both in- and out-of-sample. Incorporating all three shocks simultaneously in the HAR-RV model yields the largest forecasting gains compared to all other variants of the HAR-RV model, consistently at short-, medium-, and long forecasting horizons. The findings highlight the predictive information captured by disentangled oil price shocks in accurately forecasting oil market volatility, offering a valuable opening for investors and corporations to monitor oil market volatility using information on traded assets at high frequency.

Ultraviolet (UV) detection is extensively used in a variety of applications. However, the storage and processing of information after detection require multiple components, resulting in increased energy consumption and data transmission latency. In this paper, a reconfigurable UV photodetector based on CeO/SrTiO heterostructures is demonstrated with in-sensor computing capabilities achieved through interface engineering.

There are hazardous substances such as chloride salts and heavy metals in the municipal solid waste incineration fly ash (WIFA). During thermal treatment, the concentrated chlorides promote the volatilization of heavy metals, increasing the ecological risk. The water washing method is also employed as a pre-treatment for WIFA, but a substantial volume of wastewater with high chloride content is produced that poses challenges for effective treatment.

Plant volatile aldehydes (PVAs) such as cinnamaldehyde (Cin), citral (Cit), citronellal (Citr), and perillaldehyde (Per) have broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity and show great potential in agricultural sustainable production. However, most PVAs not only have very high volatility but also are easily degradable in environment, which seriously restricts their wide application. To address the inherent problems with PVAs, four prodrugs based on PVAs are fabricated by conjugating individually Cin, Cit, Citr, and Per to sodium bisulfite (Sod) through a simple addition reaction and subsequently self-assembled into nanoparticles (prodrug self-assemblies) in aqueous solutions.

Exploring the trend of long time-series ecological quality evolution and spatial differentiation of influencing factors in Guiyang is of great significance for realizing regional ecological protection and high-quality development strategies. Based on the 7-period Landsat remote sensing images from 1991 to 2020, the remote sensing ecological index (RSEI) of Guiyang from 1991 to 2020 was calculated using the GEE remote sensing big data platform, and a geodetector, Hurst index, and coefficient of variation with different random sampling quantities and classification strategies were used to analyze the evolutionary pattern of ecological quality, change trends, and spatial differentiation influencing factors. The results showed that ① The ecological quality of Guiyang in the past 30 years was mainly medium and good, showing a wave-like pattern of change, with the highest and lowest values occurring in 2020 (mean value 0.

As the effects of anthropogenic climate change have become more apparent, the influences of climate and extreme weather events on health have continued to gain attention. The fact Earth has warmed over the past century is indisputable and the rate of warming is more alarming. As a result of anthropogenic climate change an alteration in the air mixture has occurred over time.
