Bandgap tuning through mixing halide anions is one of the most attractive features for metal halide perovskites. However, mixed halide perovskites usually suffer from phase segregation under electrical biases. Herein, we obtain high-performance and color-stable blue perovskite LEDs (PeLEDs) based on mixed bromide/chloride three-dimensional (3D) structures. We demonstrate that the color instability of CsPb(BrCl) PeLEDs results from surface defects at perovskite grain boundaries. By effective defect passivation, we achieve color-stable blue electroluminescence from CsPb(BrCl) PeLEDs, with maximum external quantum efficiencies of up to 4.5% and high luminance of up to 5351 cd m in the sky-blue region (489 nm). Our work provides new insights into the color instability issue of mixed halide perovskites and can spur new development of high-performance and color-stable blue PeLEDs.

Phycocyanin is a natural blue pigment that tends to denature and lose its color in acidic solutions. In response to this problem, the complexes of phycocyanin (PC) with okra polysaccharides (OP) were prepared by ultrasonic processing at different pH conditions, and the molecular interactions of the complexes were characterized. The results showed that there were significant differences in the color, functional groups, and surface morphology of the complexes formed at different pH conditions.

Anthocyanins are amazing plant-derived colorants with highly valuable properties; however, their chemical and color instability issues limit their wide application in different food industry-related products such as active and intelligent packaging. In a previous study, it was demonstrated that anthocyanins could be stabilized into green plasticizers namely deep eutectic solvents (DESs). In this work, the fabrication of edible films by integrating anthocyanins along with DESs into biocompatible chitosan (CHT)-based formulations enriched with polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and PVA nanoparticles was investigated.

Perovskite nanoplatelets (NPLs) show great potential for high-color-purity light-emitting diodes (LEDs) due to their narrow line width and high exciton binding energy. However, the performance of perovskite NPL LEDs lags far behind perovskite quantum dot-/film-based LEDs, owing to their material instability and poor carrier transport. Here, we achieved efficient and stable pure blue-emitting CsPbBr NPLs with outstanding optical and electrical properties by using an aromatic ligand, 4-bromothiophene-2-carboxaldehyde (BTC).

Deep-blue perovskite light-emitting diodes (PeLEDs) of high purity are highly sought after for next-generation displays complying with the Rec. 2020 standard. However, mixed-halide perovskite materials designed for deep-blue emitters are prone to halide vacancies, which readily occur because of the low formation energy of chloride vacancies.

Blue tetradentate Pt(II) complexes, Pt-tBuCz and Pt-dipCz, are synthesized by introducing carbazoles with bulky substituents for improving the rigidity and inhibiting intermolecular interactions of phosphorescent emitter. tert-Butyl and 2,6-diisopropylphenyl groups are substituted as the blocking groups at 3 position of the carbazole in Pt-tBuCz and Pt-dipCz, respectively. These new phosphorescent emitters exhibit a narrow full width at half maximum (FWHM) and a high horizontal emitting dipole orientation ratio.
