A terminal FeOH complex, [Fe(L)(OH)] (), has been synthesized and structurally characterized (HL = 1,2-bis(2-hydroxy-2-methylpropanamido)benzene). The oxidation reaction of with one equiv. of (4-bromophenyl)ammoniumyl hexachloroantimonate (TBAH) or ceric ammonium nitrate (CAN) in acetonitrile at -45 °C results in the formation of a FeOH ligand radical complex, [Fe(L˙)(OH)] (), which is hereby characterized by UV-visible, H nuclear magnetic resonance, electron paramagnetic resonance, and X-ray absorption spectroscopy techniques. The reaction of with a triphenylcarbon radical further gives triphenylmethanol and mimics the so-called oxygen rebound step of Cpd II of cytochrome P450. Furthermore, the reaction of was explored with different 4-substituted-2,6-di--butylphenols. Based on kinetic analysis, a hydrogen atom transfer (HAT) mechanism has been established. A p value of 19.3 and a BDFE value of 78.2 kcal/mol have been estimated for complex .

Monoanionic, bidentate-auxiliary-directed, cobalt-catalyzed C-H bond functionalization has become a very useful tool in organic synthesis. A comprehensive investigation into isolated organometallic intermediates and their reactivity within the catalytic cycle is lacking. We report here mechanistic studies of cobalt-catalyzed, aminoquinoline-directed C(sp)-H bond functionalization.

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD), characterized by choroidal neovascularization (CNV), is the global leading cause of irreversible blindness. Current first-line therapeutics, vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) antagonists, often yield incomplete and suboptimal vision improvement, necessitating the exploration of novel and efficacious therapeutic approaches. Herein, a supramolecular engineering strategy to construct moringin (MOR) loaded α-cyclodextrin (α-CD) coated nanoceria (M@CCNP) is constructed, where the hydroxy and newly formed carbonyl groups of α-CD interact with the nanoceria surface via O─Ce conjunction and the isothiocyanate group of MOR inserts deeply into the α-CD cavity via host-guest interaction.

Background: Several epidemiological studies and intervention trials have demonstrated that grapes and blueberries, which are rich in flavanols, can lower the risk of cardiovascular disease. However, the mechanisms of action of these compounds remain unclear due to their low bioavailability.
Objective: This study aimed to characterize the sensory properties, blood flow velocity, and oxidative stress of a polyphenol rich grape and blueberry extract (PEGB) containing approximately 16% flavanols (11% monomers and 4% dimers).

Aziridines, characterized by their highly constrained three-membered nitrogen-containing heterocyclic ring system, serve as compelling synthetic intermediates for synthesizing numerous naturally occurring alkaloids and pharmaceuticals. The distinct ring strain arising from the geometric constraints of these sp-rich trigonal rings imparts high reactivity, thereby offering a wealth of intriguing synthetic opportunities. Recent advances in the chemistry and reactivity of aziridines have unveiled significant progress in preparing more complex heterocycles.
