The nature of plasmon interaction with organic molecules is a subject of fierce discussion about thermal and non-thermal effects. Despite the abundance of physical methods for evaluating the plasmonic effects, chemical insight has not been reported yet. In this contribution, we propose a chemical insight into the plasmon effect on reaction kinetics using alkoxyamines as an organic probe through their homolysis, leading to the generation of nitroxide radicals. Alkoxyamines (TEMPO- and SG-substituted) with well-studied homolysis behavior are covalently attached to spherical Au nanoparticles. We evaluate the kinetic parameters of homolysis of alkoxyamines attached on a plasmon-active surface under heating and irradiation at a wavelength of plasmon resonance. The estimation of kinetic parameters from experiments with different probes (, , ) allows revealing the apparent differences associated with the non-thermal contribution of plasmon activation. Moreover, our findings underline the dependency of kinetic parameters on the structure of organic molecules, which highlights the necessity to consider the nature of organic transformations and molecular structure in plasmon catalysis.

Context: The rotating arc plasma technique for the synthesis of nitrogen-doped graphene capitalizes on the distinctive attributes of plasma, presenting a straightforward, efficient, and catalyst-free strategy for the production of nitrogen-doped graphene. However, experimental outcomes generally fail to elucidate the atomic-level mechanism behind this process. Our research utilizes molecular dynamics simulations to explore theoretically the formation of radicals during the plasma-driven reaction between methane (CH₄) and nitrogen (N₂).

Formamidopyrimidine DNA glycosylase (Fpg) and flap endonuclease 1 (FEN1) are essential to sustaining genomic stability and integrity, while the abnormal activities of Fpg and FEN1 may lead to various diseases and cancers. The development of simple methods for simultaneously monitoring Fpg and FEN1 is highly desirable. Herein, we construct a multiple cyclic ligation-promoted exponential recombinase polymerase amplification (RPA) platform for sensitive and simultaneous monitoring of Fpg and FEN1 in cells and clinical tissues.

Background: Multiple sclerosis (MS) patients frequently experience gait disturbances, which can be exacerbated in those with vestibular involvement. Various exercise approaches are available to address gait difficulties in this patient population, and the use of vestibular rehabilitation, in particular, has increased recently. However, the effects of this specific exercise approach on gait in MS patients remain unclear.
