We compared the morphological aspect of glioblastoma-associated microglia/macrophages cells in 15 paired recurrent glioblastomas to check the ability of glioblastoma to recreate its microenvironment. The absolute number of GAMs is lower in normal tissue (21/mm) than in the isolated tumor cells area (100-112/mm) than in the solid tumor area (212-220/mm) ( < 0.01). The morphology of GAMs remained the same in each tumor area with a reduced covered area by cell processes (196 to 216/mm) than in normal tissue (708/mm) ( < 0.01). In paired tumors, GAMs morphology remained the same in successive resections and was not modified by the treatments.

Karnofsky Performance Status (KPS) is a widely used scale to assess performance status. KPS ≥ 50% implies that patients can live at home. Therefore, maintaining KPS ≥ 50% is important to improve the quality of life of patients with glioblastoma, whose median survival is less than 2 years.

Understanding the role of personality traits in shaping treatment outcomes is crucial given the multifaceted challenges posed by brain tumors and the significant adverse impact of radiotherapy (RT) on patients' well-being. This study aimed to provide insights into how personality traits affect psychosocial well-being and quality of life during RT in patients with high-grade malignant brain tumors. Personality traits in patients with high-grade glioma were assessed using the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire-Revised (EPQ-R).

: CSCs are critical drivers of the tumor and stem cell phenotypes of glioblastoma (GBM) cells. Chromatin modifications play a fundamental role in driving a GBM CSC phenotype. The goal of this study is to further our understanding of how stem cell-driving events control changes in chromatin architecture that contribute to the tumor-propagating phenotype of GBM.

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) currently serves as the primary diagnostic method for glioma detection and monitoring. The integration of neurosurgery, radiation therapy, pathology, and radiology in a multi-disciplinary approach has significantly advanced its diagnosis and treatment. However, the prognosis remains unfavorable due to treatment resistance, inconsistent response rates, and high recurrence rates after surgery.

Gliomas are the most common and lethal forms of malignant brain tumors. We attempted to identify the role of the aging-suppressor gene and Klotho protein in the immunopathogenesis of gliomas. We examined genetic variants by PCR-RFLP and measured serum Klotho levels using the ELISA method.
