Sports-related concussions (SRCs) are a major health issue in athletes of varying ages, ability levels, and sports. Concerns over the short- and long-term consequences of SRCs have incentivized a wealth of products and policies aimed at reducing SRC risk. Research suggesting the effectiveness of such interventions at reducing SRCs has facilitated their adoption by sports organizations and, in some cases, product commercialization.

Background: Correct identification of those patients presenting with an acute vestibular syndrome (AVS) or an acute imbalance syndrome (AIS) that have underlying posterior-circulation stroke (PCS) and thus may benefit from revascularization (intravenous thrombolysis (IVT), endovascular therapy (EVT)) is important. Treatment guidelines for AVS/AIS patients are lacking. We reviewed the evidence on acute treatment strategies in AVS/AIS focusing on predictors for IVT/EVT and outcome.

In Turkey's occupational health system, doctors must use the International Labor Organization's (ILO) standards to classify the chest radiographs of workers at risk of lung diseases caused by dust exposure. Yet these standards do not provide a uniformity of care within the tripartite structure of the occupational health system, which divides disease surveillance, disease diagnosis, and worker compensation into distinct silos. This division often produces ambiguity and unpredictable outcomes for occupational disease claims.
