In this study the effect of the carbon source on L-valine production kinetics using genetically modified was researched. Glucose, lactose, Whey (W) and deproteinized whey (DW) were tested as carbon sources, keeping the carbon/nitrogen (C/N) ratio constant. Biomass generation and substrate consumption were modeled with Contois and Mass Conservation models, respectively, whereas Mass Conservation Balance and Luedeking-Piret models were used for product obtaining. Results showed that L-valine production is partially associated to growth, with values of 0.485 g L-valine/(g dry cell weight.h), and a product loss effect at a specific rate (β) of 0.019 g L-valine/(g dry cell weight.h) with W. The yield of this product increased 36 % using W concerning glucose or lactose as carbon sources. On the other hand, Mass Balance and Luedeking-Piret models adjust properly to experimental data (R >0.90). In conclusion whey is a promising substrate for obtaining L-valine using genetically-modified .

Improving mammary gland epithelial cells proliferation through nutrition is an important approach for enhancing sow milk production and piglet growth. An intermediate metabolite of valine, 3-hydroxyisobutyrate (3-HIB), regulates cellular lipid metabolism. In the present study, we investigated the effects of 3-HIB on porcine mammary gland epithelial cells proliferation and lipid metabolism.

Phytoplankton plays a crucial role in the fate of pollutants in aquatic ecosystems by biotransformation and bioaccumulation. Aniline was listed in priority pollutants due to its toxicity and widespread distribution in the aquatic environment. This study focused on investigating the capacity and mechanism of eukaryotic alga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii in transforming aniline.

Introduction: The free exopolysaccharide (f-EPS) produced by is a natural texture modifier and has a variety of prebiotic activities. Our previous studies showed f-EPS production from 937 was increased 2-fold in the presence of 15 mM of glutamate, isoleucine, and histidine in the chemically defined medium.
Methods: In this study, we used transcriptomics and qPCR to further explore the specific mechanism of the enhanced effect of 3 amino acids on the f-EPS biosynthesis of 937.

Isoleucic acid (ILA) was identified in human patients with maple syrup urine disease (MSUD) half a century ago. MSUD patients, who are defective in the catabolism of branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs), that is, isoleucine, leucine, and valine, have urine with a unique maple syrup odour related to the accumulation of BCAA breakdown products, largely 2-keto acid derivatives and their reduced 2-hydroxy acids including ILA. A decade ago, ILA was identified in Arabidopsis thaliana.

[CuL(tmen)] is a sequence of four ternary mononuclear Schiff base copper(II) complexes that are derived from L-valine, suitable 5'-substituted-2'-hydroxyacetophenones (where the substituents are -Cl for L, -Me for L, -OMe for L, and -H for L), and tmen (where tmen-N,N,N',N' tetramethyl ethylenediamine). Without isolating the Schiff base ligand or producing any other intermediate products, all of the complexes were synthesised. These compounds were identified using elemental analysis, molar conductance, UV-Vis, FTIR, EPR, VSM-RT, and CD spectra.
