Objective: This study aimed to explore the effect of predictive nursing on the comfort, illness perception, metabolism of calcium and phosphorus, and complication of hemodialysis patients.

Methods: A total of 160 patients admitted to our hospital were selected as the research participants. Among them, 80 patients who did not undergo predictive nursing before admission were divided into the control group, and 80 patients who received predictive nursing before admission were divided into the study group. The comfort of nursing intervention, illness perception, metabolism of calcium and phosphorus, and complication rate of the patients was compared between the two groups.

Results: The result of the comparison showed that the general comfort questionnaire (CGQ), illness perception questionnaire (IPQ-R), level of calcium and phosphorus metabolism, and nursing satisfaction of the study group were significantly higher than those of the control group (<0.05). The incidence of complications such as anaphylaxis and hemorrhage in the study group was lower than that in the control group (<0.05), and the levels of nutritional indicators (serum albumin, total serum protein) in the study group after intervention were higher than those in the control group (<0.05).

Conclusion: Predictive nursing can not only help improve the comfort and calcium and phosphorus metabolism of hemodialysis patients during the treatment process, and improve patients' illness perception and nursing satisfaction, but also help reduce the incidence of various complications, and adjust the nutritional level of patients, which is worthy of clinical application.

Background: Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) associated with coronavirus infectious disease (COVID)-19 has been a challenge in intensive care medicine for the past three years. Dysregulation of the renin-angiotensin system (RAS) is linked to COVID-19, but also to non-COVID-19 ARDS. It is still unclear whether changes in the RAS are associated with prognosis of severe COVID-19.
