China's forensic pathology standardization has accumulated more than 30 years of experience, but there is limited research summarizing the features and detailed information concerning these standards. In this paper, we collected documents on forensic pathology standards and statistically analyzed their types, effective scopes, drafting units, authorization departments, promulgation times, revision cycles, and other information. All of the standards information was obtained from standardization websites and databases.

Background: Spontaneous splenic rupture is a rare life-threatening finding with a challenging diagnosis which is largely ignored in the literature. Hematological disorders such as afibrinogenemia are reported to cause bleeding disorders mostly cerebral hemorrhage. While abrasions and lacerations are typically easily identified, darker pigmentation of the skin may obscure contusions. Forensic pathology literature shows a disproportionate number of illustrations of contusions on lighter skin tones compared to darker ones. Skin and soft tissue dissection is the most reliable method to confirm contusions.
