Mycobacterium abscessus subsp. abscessus is one of the most difficult pathogens to treat and its incidence in disease is increasing. Dual β-lactam combinations act synergistically in vitro but are not widely employed in practice. A recent study shows that a combination of imipenem and ceftaroline significantly lowers the minimum inhibitory concentration of clinical isolates, despite both drugs targeting the same peptidoglycan synthesis enzymes. The underlying mechanism of this effect provides a basis for further investigations of dual β-lactam combinations in the treatment of M. abscessus subsp. abscessus, eventually leading to a clinical trial. Furthermore, dual β-lactam strategies may be explored for other difficult mycobacterial infections.

Background: Depression and anxiety disorders frequently co-occur with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, leading to poor glycaemic control and quality of life through complex biopsychosocial mechanisms. A dual diagnosis of chronic medical and mental health conditions reduces the probability of early recognition and intervention for either. This study was aimed at assessing the prevalence and correlates of depression and anxiety disorders among persons with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in a tertiary hospital in North-West Nigeria.

Objectives: To develop a nomogram based on the radiomics features of tumour and perigastric adipose tissue adjacent to the tumor in dual-layer spectral detector computed tomography (DLCT) for lymph node metastasis (LNM) prediction in gastric cancer (GC).
Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 175 patients with gastric adenocarcinoma. They were divided into training cohort (n = 125) and validation cohort (n = 50).

Background: Overexpression of interleukin (IL)-17A and IL-17F significantly influences psoriasis pathology. Until recently, biologics targeting IL-17A alone, like secukinumab, were used to treat psoriasis. Bimekizumab is a monoclonal IgG1 antibody that targets both IL-17A and IL-17F.

Toluene-2,5-diamine sulfate (PTDS), also known as toluene diamine sulfate or 2,5-diaminotoluene sulfate, is an aromatic amine that can be used as a paraphenylenediamine (PPD) hair dye alternative. Patients may develop contact allergy to PTDS, and it is often omitted from standard patch test screening series, possibly leading to underdiagnosis. The American Contact Dermatitis Society named PTDS the Allergen of the Year for 2025, aiming to raise awareness of its dual role as both an allergen and an alternative for some PPD-allergic individuals.

Study Objectives: This study assessed the utilization of potentially inappropriate medications (PIM) including oral sedative-hypnotic and atypical antipsychotic (OSHAA), healthcare resource utilization (HCRU), and costs among elderly individuals with insomnia and in the subpopulation with Alzheimer's Disease (AD) who also had a diagnosis of insomnia.
Methods: Using claims database containing International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision (ICD-10) codes, the cohort included individuals aged ≥ 65 with incident insomnia (EI, N=152,969) and AD insomnia subpopulation (ADI, N=4,888). Proportion of patients utilizing atypical antipsychotics or oral sedative-hypnotic medications, namely z-drugs, benzodiazepines, doxepin, Dual Orexin Receptor Antagonists (DORAs), and melatonin agonists, were assessed.
