Background: Keloid is a benign skin tumor that result from abnormal wound healing and excessive collagen deposition. The pathogenesis is believed to be linked to genetic predisposition and immune imbalance, although the precise mechanisms remain poorly understood. Current therapeutic approaches may not consistently yield satisfactory outcomes and are often accompanied by potential side effects and risks.

Gene therapy is a rapidly developing field, finally yielding clinical benefits. Genetic engineering of organs for transplantation may soon be an option, thanks to convergence with another breakthrough technology, ex vivo machine perfusion (EVMP). EVMP allows access to the functioning organ for genetic manipulation prior to transplant.

Objective: This study aims to explore the genetic characteristics of pediatric sepsis through a combined analysis of multiple methods, including Mendelian Randomization (MR), differential gene expression analysis, and immune cell infiltration assessment. It explores their potential as biomarkers for sepsis risk and their involvement in immune-related pathways.
Methods: Differential expression analysis was performed using public datasets to identify genes with significant expression changes between pediatric sepsis patients and healthy controls.

Background: People with joint hypermobility have excessive joint flexibility, which is more common in young women. The people with symptomatic hypermobility report poor balance and even falls. This scoping review aims to identify and map the available evidence related to balance and falling in adults with joint hypermobility to support research planning and ideas for treatment direction.

Since groundbreaking works in the 1980s it is well-known that simple deterministic dynamical systems can display intermittent dynamics and weak chaos leading to anomalous diffusion. A paradigmatic example is the Pomeau-Manneville (PM) map which, suitably lifted onto the whole real line, was shown to generate superdiffusion that can be reproduced by stochastic Lévy walks (LWs). Here, we report that this matching only holds for parameter values of the PM map that are of Lebesgue measure zero in its two-dimensional parameter space.
