Geometry-Based Synchrosqueezing S-Transform with Shifted Instantaneous Frequency Estimator Applied to Gearbox Fault Diagnosis.

Sensors (Basel)

January 2025

Heime (Tianjin) Electrical Engineering Systems Co., Ltd., Tianjin 301700, China.

This paper introduces a novel geometry-based synchrosqueezing S-transform (GSSST) for advanced gearbox fault diagnosis, designed to enhance diagnostic precision in both planetary and parallel gearboxes. Traditional time-frequency analysis (TFA) methods, such as the Synchrosqueezing S-transform (SSST), often face challenges in accurately representing fault-related features when significant mode closely spaced components are present. The proposed GSSST method overcomes these limitations by implementing an intuitive geometric reassignment framework, which reassigns time-frequency (TF) coefficients to maximize energy concentration, thereby allowing fault components to be distinctly isolated even under challenging conditions.

Post/Long COVID (syndrome) is defined as a condition with symptoms persisting for more than 12 weeks after the onset of SARS-CoV-2 infection that cannot be explained otherwise. The prevalence of self-reported otorhinolaryngological Post/Long COVID symptoms is high. The aim of this review was to analyze the current literature regarding the actual prevalence, knowledge of the etiopathology, and evidence-based treatment recommendations of otorhinolaryngology-related Post/Long COVID symptoms.

Localized and Excimer Triplet Electronic States of Naphthalene Dimers: A Computational Study.

Molecules

January 2025

Istituto di Biostrutture e Bioimmagini-CNR (IBB-CNR), Via De Amicis 95, I-80145 Napoli, Italy.

We perform DFT calculations with different hybrid (ωB97X-D and M05-2X) and double hybrid (B2PLYP-D3 and ωB2PLYP) functionals to characterize the lowest energy triplet excited states of naphthalene monomer and dimers in different stacking arrangements and to simulate their absorption spectra. We show that both excimer and localized triplet minima exist. In the former, the spin density is delocalized over the two monomers, adopting a face-to-face arrangement with a short inter-molecular distance.

For the exploration and development of oil and gas reservoirs in shallow, cold regions and deep oceans, oil well cement (OWC) pastes face the challenge of slow cement hydration reactions and the low early-strength development of cement stone at low temperatures, which can cause the risk of fluid channeling and the defective isolation of the sealing section during the cementing construction process. To address the above challenges, a nanoscale hydrated calcium silicate (C-S-H) crystal nucleus, DRA-1L, was synthesized. Its application performance and action mechanism were studied.
