Background: The Controlling Nutritional Status (CONUT) score, a novel immuno-nutritional index, was reported as a predictor of overall survival (OS) in some tumors.
Objective: We aimed to investigate the association between baseline CONUT Score and clinical outcomes in patients with multiple myeloma (MM).
Methods: We performed a retrospective analysis of 245 patients with MM. The CONUT score was determined prior to therapy.
Results: Among the entire cohort, the complete remission rate was markedly higher in the low-CONUT (⩽ 3) group compared to the mid-CONUT (4-9) group or high-CONUT (> 9) group (44.1% vs 25.8%, P= 0.039; 44.1% vs 12.5%, P= 0.002). Patients with CONUT score > 9 had significant poor prognosis, and CONUT score ⩽ 3 group showed better survival outcome than other groups in OS (P< 0.001). Besides, we stratified the patients by combining International Staging System (ISS) stage and CONUT score in a model, and found that CONUT score could improve the prognostic impact of ISS stages on OS. In multivariate analysis, older age (⩾ 70 years) and a high CONUT score (⩾ 4) were independent prognostic risk factors for OS.
Conclusions: The CONUT score was a predictor of OS in MM patients especially in cases with both low ISS staging and CONUT score. The baseline CONUT score may be an early and practical indicator of the efficacy of anti-myeloma treatment.

Gastrointestinal (GI) involvement is highly prevalent in systemic sclerosis (SSc) and significantly affects patient quality of life and clinical outcomes. This study investigates the potential of undernutrition scores, namely the Control of Nutritional Status (CONUT) score and the Prognostic Nutrition Index (PNI), in predicting GI involvement in patients with SSc. A total of 82 patients diagnosed with SSc were enrolled in this cross-sectional study.

Background Tooth loss can impair masticatory function and may subsequently result in malnutrition. This study aimed to investigate the factors associated with controlling nutritional status (CONUT) scores, which assess malnutrition risk, in patients with removable dentures. Materials and methods In this cross-sectional study, data were obtained from a consecutive sampling of 192 patients (mean age 72.

Background: Hip fractures are a prevalent and serious health issue, particularly among the elderly population aged >65 years. These injuries are associated with elevated rates of postoperative complications and mortality, significantly diminishing patients' quality of life in both the short- and long-term. The prognosis for recovery is further exacerbated in individuals with signs of malnutrition.

Background And Aim: Many scoring systems are used to evaluate malnutrition, but there is no consensus on which scoring system would be more appropriate. We aimed to investigate the effect of malnutrition in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF) and to compare three scoring systems.
Methods And Results: A total of 2592 patients with non-valvular AF from 35 different centers in Turkey were included in this prospective study.

Background: Although malnutrition is associated with poor prognosis in Pulmonary Tuberculosis (PTB) patients, no nutrition-based prediction model has been established for PTB. Herein, we explored the clinical utility of common nutrition scores in predicting the prognosis of PTB patients.
Methods: We retrospectively collected clinical baseline data from 167 patients with secondary PTB who had not previously received anti-TB treatment.
