Missing of IUD is not always due to expulsion. If the patient is sure that it has not got expulsed, further investigations such as abdominal ultrasound and X-ray should be performed to look for the device before any device-related complications.

Background: Intrauterine exposure to gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) poses significant risks to fetal development and future metabolic health. Despite its clinical importance, the role of microRNAs (miRNAs) in fetoplacental vascular endothelial cell (VEC) programming in the context of GDM remains elusive. This study aims to identify signature miRNA genes involved in this process using bioinformatics analysis via multiple algorithms.

Preeclampsia is characterized by insufficient invasion of extravillous trophoblasts and is a consequence of failed adaption of extravillous trophoblasts to changes in the intrauterine environment developing embryo. Specific miRNAs are implicated in the development of preeclampsia (PE). miR-455-5p is present at low levels in PE but its role is not known.

Intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) is the second most common obstetric complication after preterm labor. Appropriate trophoblast differentiation and placental structure, growth and function are key for the maintenance of pregnancy and normal fetal growth, development and survival. Extravillous trophoblast cell proliferation, migration and invasion are regulated by molecules produced by the fetomaternal interface, including autocrine factors produced by the trophoblast, such as insulin‑like growth factor (IGF)‑1.

IUCD migration was confirmed by CT scan and subsequent single-port laparoscopic retrieval alleviated her symptoms.

Introduction: IUDs are effective, reversible and safe methods of contraception. The mechanism of action of IUDs as a group is inducing endometrial atrophy, apoptosis, altering tubal motility; preventing sperm permeability, fertilization, and implantation. Complications of IUD include menstrual disturbance, pelvic pain, and increased risk of ectopic pregnancy with contraceptive failure, device expulsion, uterine perforation or transmural migration with misplacement of the device.
