Chiral metasurfaces patterned with L-shaped holes in a thin film of Dirac semimetal Cd3As2 are designed. The impact of temperature T on circular conversion dichroism, mainly characterized by circular polarization differential transmittance (CPDT), is studied by rigorous coupled-wave analysis. The results show that decreasing T will give rise to the appearance of much more narrow CPDT peaks and dips, and the maximum differential transmittance between two opposite circularly polarized light can reach above 0.60 by optimizing the structural parameters at 80 K. As the T increases, the differential transmittance gradually decreases, and the CPDT peak and dip values exhibit variation tendencies of 'Z' and 'S' types, respectively. Two simple formulae of CPDT extreme values with respect to T are derived, predicting that the decreasing tendency will reach saturation when T ≥ 500 K. Differing from the wavelength-independent variation trend of differential transmittance, CPDT extremum positions mainly show a blueshift (redshift) tendency at the wavelength λ > 10 μm (λ < 5 μm) as the T increases. Moreover, evolutions of CPDT with various factors including the thickness of Cd3As2, incident and azimuth angles are also clearly unveiled.

Seed endophytes are actively used by the mother plant as both reservoir and vector of beneficial microbes. During seed dormancy endophytes experience significant physiochemical changes and only competent endophytes could colonise successfully in seeds and some of them act as obligate endophyte that are transmitted vertically across generations. The adaptive nature of endophytes allows them to switch lifestyles depending on environment and host conditions.

Herein, composite films were produced by incorporating different amounts (1, 3, 5, and 7%) of barium titanate nanoparticles into the thermoplastic polyurethane matrix using a solution casting method. This study examined the impact of the presence and concentration of a barium titanate additive on morphologic properties, mechanical performance, thermal stability, solar behavior, and wettability of produced film samples. The films were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, thermal gravimetric analysis, scanning electron microscope, ultraviolet-visible near-infrared spectrophotometer, water contact angle, and tensile strength measurements.

Sustainable poly(lactic acid) (PLA)/poly(propylene carbonate) (PPC) blends were compatibilized by the environmentally friendly epoxidized soybean oil (ESO) through the chemical reaction of epoxy functional groups on ESO with the terminated carboxyl and hydroxyl groups of PLA/PPC. The compatibilization effect of ESO was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, rheological property testing, differential scanning calorimetry, and morphological observations. It was revealed that the molecular chain entanglement between PLA and PPC was significantly enhanced and the dispersed PPC phase size was decreased, which endowed the blend with high viscosity modulus, low tan δ, and great stretchability, especially for the blend containing 1.

In the extreme ultraviolet lithography (EUVL) process, extreme ultraviolet (EUV) pellicles serve as thin, transparent membranes that shield the photomask (reticle) from particle contamination, thereby preserving photomask pattern integrity, reducing chip failure risks, and enhancing production yields. The production of EUV pellicles is highly challenging due to their mechanical fragility at nanometer-scale thicknesses and the need to endure the rigorous conditions of the EUVL environment, which include high temperatures and hydrogen radicals. Consequently, extensive research has been conducted on a variety of materials, such as carbon-based and silicon-based substances, for the development of EUV pellicles.
