Collaborative organising is known to burn like a rocket: it thrives on intense passion, relationality and creativity but quickly falls into pieces. This article explores the underestimated role of events and their affective atmospheres to sustain collaborative work. Drawing insights from two ethnographic field studies within an open-source software community and a network of impact entrepreneurs, we introduce the notion of 'polyrhythmic affectivity' at the core of polycentric governance.

This commentary presents the American Geophysical Union's GeoHealth section statement in support of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). The GeoHealth section is an open community that represents diverse backgrounds in the geophysical, biological, and public health sciences that share a passion for research at the nexus of Earth and health sciences. The GeoHealth section will aim to advance our understanding of the interactions between the environment, human health, and well-being while supporting DEI topics.

Jennifer N. Bondy, is a family physician practising in Windsor, ON, and the medical director of WSH and serves as one of the co-chairs on its steering committee. Jennifer is the founder of the WSH research team and is passionate about improving the quality of care for people experiencing homelessness by using evidence-informed decision making to help guide programming.
Windsor Shelter Health is an integrated program that offers comprehensive on-site medical services at shelters and drop-in centres for people experiencing homelessness in Windsor, ON. Although homelessness exists in most Canadian communities, there is more understanding of homelessness responses in larger urban centres. Windsor is a mid-sized border city in southwestern Ontario.

Jillian Brooke, is the senior director of Occupational Health, Safety and Wellness at SE Health, and based in Lakeshore, ON. She has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals and participated in provincial and national guideline and standard development. Drawing on her lived experience, Jillian is passionate about fostering a supportive environment for working caregivers and is actively involved with the Canadian Centre for Caregiving Excellence's Working Caregivers Project.
Workplace mental health is a critical concern. Forty per cent of healthcare workers experience burnout, half intend to leave the profession and only 60% express satisfaction with the quality of care they provide. These statistics highlight the urgency for innovative and holistic approaches to support well-being within healthcare organizations.
