Iridium-based double perovskites having mixed 3-5-4magnetic sub-lattices are expected to exhibit exotic magnetic phenomenon. In this paper, we report a study of structural, magnetic and transport properties of the mixed 3-5-4double perovskite SmCoIrO(SMCO), which crystallizes in monoclinic structure with space group2/and the crystal symmetry remains same throughout the measured temperature down to 15 K. High resolution synchrotron x-ray diffraction reveals an isostructural phase transition around 104 K. Magnetization measurements on polycrystalline samples indicate that SMCO orders ferrimagnetically at= 104 K; while, a second transition is observed below 10 K due to the rare-earth (Sm) ordering. The ferrimagnetic transition is well-understood by Néel's two-sublattice model, which is primarily ascribed to antiferromagnetic coupling between Coand Irsub-lattices. Electronic transport measurement shows the insulting behaviour of SMCO, which follows Mott variable-range hopping conduction mechanism. However, dielectric measurements as a function of temperature rules out the presence of magneto dielectric coupling in this compound.

During the preparation of single-domain (S-D) REBaCuO (RE-123) superconducting bulks, the seed crystals can serve as templates for crystal growth, guiding the newly formed crystals to grow in a specific direction, thereby ensuring the consistency of the crystal orientation within the sample. However, the infiltration temperature is typically restricted to approximately 1050 °C when employing NdBaCuO (Nd-123) crystal seeds in the traditional top-seeded infiltration growth (TSIG) technique for producing single-domain Y-123 bulk superconductors. In the present study, to overcome the temperature limitations of the heat treatment process, the optimized YO +011 IG (011 refers to BaCuO powder) method was employed to fabricate a group of single-domain Y-123 bulks with a high-temperature infiltration (1000-1300 °C).

The discovery of two-dimensional (2D) van der Waals ferromagnetic materials opens up new avenues for making devices with high information storage density, ultra-fast response, high integration, and low power consumption. FeGeTe has attracted much attention because of its ferromagnetic transition temperature near room temperature. However, the investigation of its phase transition is rare until now.

Solid electrolytes (SEs) are crucial for advancing next-generation rechargeable battery technologies, but their commercial viability is partially limited by expensive precursors, unscalable synthesis, or low ionic conductivity. Lithium tetrahaloaluminates offer an economical option but exhibit low Li conductivities with high activation energy barriers. This study reports the synthesis of lithium aluminum chalcohalide (LiAlClS) using inexpensive precursors one-step mechanochemical milling.

Non-volatile electronic memory elements are very attractive for applications, not only for information storage but also in logic circuits, sensing devices and neuromorphic computing. Here, a ferroelectric film of guanine nucleobase is used in a resistive memory junction sandwiched between two different ferromagnetic films of Co and CoCr alloys. The magnetic films have an in-plane easy axis of magnetization and different coercive fields whereas the guanine film ensures a very long spin transport length, at 100 K.

Molybdate, an oxidized form of molybdenum, facilitates molybdenum to be taken into cell, and thus to be included as a cofactor in the structure of enzymes necessary to ensure homeostasis. Although this compound provides the catalysis and electron transport of many biochemical reactions, it causes serious health problems in animals at high concentrations. For this reason, its recovery of water resources is one of the main subjects of scientific studies called bioremediaiton.
