Bell's palsy (BP) is a neurological disorder characterized by sudden unilateral peripheral facial paralysis. The aim of this retrospective cohort study is to evaluate clinical features, laboratory markers, and therapeutic options associated with recovery to identify potential prognostic factors and validate therapeutic strategies, with a particular focus on the role of corticosteroids and vitamin supplementation.

A 4-year-old neutered female domestic shorthair indoor cat was presented with sudden onset of abnormal and painful tail-carriage. The tail was held horizontally for the first centimeters from the base and a flaccid paralysis was evident more distally. Magnetic resonance imaging of the lumbosacral spine and tail revealed a lesion located in the right and muscles along the 1st coccygeal vertebrae.

Pneumococcal meningitis is the most severe bacterial meningitis rarely complicated by acute myelitis. We report a case of a 54-year-old female who presented with pneumococcal meningoencephalitis. After eight days of hospitalization, the patient presented a sudden onset of bilateral lower leg weakness and bladder and bowel sphincter dysfunction.

This report details a case of acute idiopathic velopharyngeal insufficiency in a previously healthy eight-year-old girl, presenting with sudden voice alteration and nasal regurgitation following mild respiratory symptoms. Physical examination identified unilateral velar paralysis with open rhinolalia, without additional neurological deficits. Extensive diagnostic evaluation, including nasopharyngoscopy, cerebral and cervical imaging, and infectious serologies, yielded unremarkable findings.
