Linear IgA bullous dermatosis (LABD) is a rare subepidermal blistering disorder characterized by the presence of linear IgA deposits at the basement membrane zone (BMZ) by direct immunofluorescence (DIF). This entity was first described by Chorzelski and Jablonska from Warsaw Center of Bullous Diseases, Poland. The disease affects children and adults, whereby they differ in terms of clinical picture and course.

Neighbours may be related individuals due to limited seed dispersal or clonal growth, so that the ability to recognize and respond to the presence of kin is beneficial. Despite the development of guidelines for the ethical conduct of research in prisons, researchers and advocates have questioned whether current approaches aimed at protecting incarcerated persons from unethical research unfairly exclude this group from participating in and benefitting from research. Discussion of these issues comes mostly from expert opinion.
