Age-related cognitive impairment and dementia pose a significant global health, social, and economic challenge. While Alzheimer's disease (AD) has historically been viewed as the leading cause of dementia, recent evidence reveals the considerable impact of vascular cognitive impairment and dementia (VCID), which now accounts for nearly half of all dementia cases. The Mediterranean diet-characterized by high consumption of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, fish, and olive oil-has been widely recognized for its cardiovascular benefits and may also reduce the risk of cognitive decline and dementia.

It is established that sarcopenia and muscle loss occurred during treatment are associated with the clinical outcomes of patients with cancer. This systematic review and meta-analysis aims to evaluate the association between sarcopenia at pretreatment and during treatment and overall survival or disease progression in patients with cervical cancer.

Liquid crystal monomers (LCMs), the integral components in the manufacture of digital displays, have engendered environmental concerns due to extensive utilization and intensive emission. Despite their prevalence and ecotoxicity, the LCM impacts on plant growth and agricultural yield remain inadequately understood. In this study, we investigated the specific response mechanisms of tobacco, a pivotal agricultural crop and model plant, to four representative LCMs (2OdF3B, 5CB, 4PiMeOP, 2BzoCP) through integrative molecular and physiological approaches.

To solve the coverage problem caused by the random deployment of wireless sensor network nodes in the forest fire-monitoring system, a modified marine predator algorithm (MMPA) is proposed. Four modifications have been made based on the standard marine predator algorithm (MPA). Firstly, tent mapping is integrated into the initialization step to improve the searching ability of the early stage.
