Phytoplankton are diverse photosynthetic organisms in estuarine ecosystems and sensitive indicators of environmental changes. This study employed Generalized Additive Model (GAM) to explore the impact of environmental variables on the abundance of six dominant phytoplankton species in the tropical Karanja estuary, India. Data were collected from five sampling stations between January 2022 and March 2023.

Methods: Results from 1233 participants (504 males and 729 females) in a retrospective analysis were included. Maximal voluntary isometric contraction strength (MVC), one-repetition maximum strength (1RM), biceps cross-sectional area (CSA) and elbow flexor volume (VOL) measures of the non-dominant and dominant arm were evaluated from baseline and after 12-wk RT twice per week.

The family of heterodimeric CD11/CD18 integrins facilitate leukocyte adhesion and migration in a wide range of normal physiologic responses, as well as in the pathology of inflammatory diseases. Soluble CD18 (sCD18) is found mainly in complexes with hydrodynamic radii of 5 and 7.2 nm, suggesting a compositional difference.

Anthropogenic influences have drastically increased nutrient concentrations in many estuaries globally, and microbial communities have adapted to the resulting hypereutrophic ecosystems. However, our knowledge of the dominant microbial taxa and their potential functions in these ecosystems has remained sparse. Here, we study prokaryotic community dynamics in a temporal-spatial dataset, from a subtropical hypereutrophic estuary.

Algal blooms in freshwater, which are exacerbated by urbanization and climate change, pose significant challenges in the water treatment process. These blooms affect water quality and treatment efficiency. Effective identification of algal proliferation based on the dominant species is important to ensure safe drinking water and a clean water supply.
